So Ive been a prime member since like 2017 and usually I just hold off on all my tech upgrades until July because that was always the unwritten rule right? Prime Day for gadgets and Black Friday for home stuff. But honestly lately im getting suspicious because I was tracking this 27 inch LG monitor for my home office setup - im a freelance video editor so i need that color accuracy - and the price actually went UP like twenty bucks last week. My logic was that theyd drop it to a sale price that is actually just the normal price from a month ago. Its making me wonder if the algorithm is just playing us at this point. I have about 600 bucks set aside for the monitor and a new 2TB NVMe drive since my current boot drive is getting sluggish and I need to get this rig finished before my big project starts in August. Is it even worth waiting another few weeks or should I just pull the trigger on Newegg or B&H now? I feel like I used to know how to play this game but now the price tracking extensions like CamelCamelCamel are showing such weird spikes that I cant tell if a deal is actually a deal anymore. Do the actual high-end electronics like GPUs or high-refresh monitors even get real cuts or is it just the Amazon-branded Echo and Kindle junk that gets the big discounts...

Ive been building my own rigs since the early Phenom II days so I am usually pretty good at spotting market trends but Newegg is really messing with me lately. I am trying to put together a solid 1440p build for my home office out here in Oregon—bless no sales tax—and I have got about a firm $1800 budget to work with for the whole tower. I am currently eyeing an RTX 4070 Super and maybe that Lexar NM790 4TB drive since I do a lot of 4K video editing on the side and need the fast scratch space.

The thing is I have been watching my cart for about two weeks now and the prices are just... weird. Like I will check on a Tuesday morning and the GPU is $599 then by Wednesday night it is up to $635 but then Friday morning it drops again but not quite back to the original price. It is driving me crazy because I am trying to hit a mid-August deadline before my next big freelance project starts and every 20 or 30 bucks counts when I am trying to squeeze in a better Tier-A PSU or a slightly faster kit of DDR5.

I remember people saying years ago that Tuesday was the magic day for tech deals or maybe it was those Shell Shocker sales on Thursdays but it feels like their algorithm is way more aggressive and reactive now. Is there an actual logic to when they refresh their inventory pricing or am I just seeing ghosts in the data?

My specific constraints for this build:

Total budget must stay under $1800

Need all parts ordered by next Friday to meet my assembly window

Hoping for a 850W Gold rated unit from a reliable brand like Seasonic or Corsair

Trying to avoid multiple shipping fees by sticking to one or two vendors

I have tried using some of those price tracker extensions but they dont seem to catch the hidden promo codes that pop up for like six hours and then just vanish into thin air. Does anyone who shops there regularly know if they usually do a big dump of coupons on a specific day like Monday night or if it is just completely random based on stock levels and what the competition is doing? I am really trying to time this right so I dont pull the trigger and then see a 10 percent sitewide code the very next morning...

So I finally bit the bullet and got the Sony a7R IV last month and man... those 61 megapixels are no joke. Im seeing every single tiny bit of motion blur even when I think I'm being steady. My old cheap Manfrotto aluminum thing just isnt cutting it anymore especially when the wind picks up here in the PNW. I spend a lot of time hiking around Olympic National Park so I need something that wont kill my back but still keeps this beast of a sensor rock steady for long exposures.

Ive been obsessing over reviews for like two weeks straight now and I am totally stuck. I'm torn between a few different setups. First is the Gitzo Mountaineer Series 2. It's super expensive and honestly pushing my budget since I'd still need to buy a decent ball head for it too but people say it's the gold standard. It feels like the buy it once option but my bank account is screaming at me just looking at the price tag.

On the other hand, the Peak Design Carbon Travel Tripod looks so sleek and packs down small which would be amazing for my backpack. Space is always an issue when I'm packing my camping gear too. But I've read some people say it gets a bit shaky when fully extended and I'm terrified of that with the a7R IV resolution. 61MP is just so unforgiving with even the slightest vibration.

Then there is the Leofoto LS-324C which looks like a clone of the higher end stuff but it's way cheaper. I could get that and a really nice head and still be under my $700 limit easily. But is the build quality actually there or am I gonna regret it in a year when the legs start sticking? I really need to make a decision soon because I have a big trip coming up in three weeks and I dont want to be stuck with my old shaky gear again.

Which one of these is actually going to handle the high res sensor the best without being a total pain to carry on a 10 mile hike? Is the Gitzo really worth double the price of the others or is the Peak Design stable enough if I dont extend the center column?

So I was looking at these blue Nike Dunks on a few different websites because I finally saved up enough money from my summer job at the car wash to get a nice pair for the new school year. I have like 160 dollars total to spend including shipping and stuff but the prices keep moving around and it makes no sense to me. One day they are 110 and then the next they are 145 and I feel like I am going crazy or maybe the website is just tricking me?? I dont really know how any of this works since I usually just buy whatever is on sale at the mall but these are special and I really want them to last.

Is there a way to actually see what the price used to be last month or even last week? Like a tracker or a chart or something so I can tell if today is a good day to buy them or if I should wait. I saw some people online talking about resale and retail and honestly it is super confusing to me and I have no idea where to start. I just want to know if I am paying too much right now because I dont want to waste my savings if they are gonna go back down tomorrow. Sorry if this is a really basic thing that everyone already knows but I am totally lost on where to look for this kind of info or if a website like that even exists...

Ive been sitting here for like three hours trying to pick out stuff for my nephews and my parents keep pestering me for a link so they can just buy what I picked out. I have like 15 things in my cart right now mostly toys and some warm clothes because it is freezing here in Ohio lately but I cant find a share button anywhere on the actual cart page. I looked it up and saw people talking about the whole Amazon Household thing or just making a public Wish List but that seems like a huge pain to go back and re-add every single item from the cart into a new list just to share it. Plus some of the stuff in my cart are limited time deals and Im worried if I move them to a list the price might change or theyll sell out before my mom even looks at it.

Is there some kind of browser extension or a hidden setting that just lets me send a direct link to my active cart? I really need to get these orders in by Friday if theyre gonna get here before the 25th and my budget is strictly $500 so I cant really afford to mess up the discounts I found. Does anyone know if there is a faster way than just rebuilding the whole list from scratch? Every minute I wait the shipping dates get pushed back further...
