I finally pulled the trigger on a used Dura Black X-Pro3 for my trip to Tokyo next month but honestly im terrified of dropping it. The body is so much slicker than I expected and my hands are kinda on the larger side so it just feels like it wants to slide right out of my palm whenever I walk around with it.

Ive been looking into some options and I saw the official Fujifilm MHG-XPRO3 grip but then I read some forum posts saying it adds too much weight and makes the camera feel bulky which kinda defeats the purpose of the X-Pro series right? I also looked at the Lensmate thumb rest because everyone says its the gold standard but then I saw a couple people complaining that it makes reaching the back dial a huge pain or it might scratch the hot shoe mount over time. I really need to get this sorted before I leave in three weeks because I dont want to be fumbling with my gear in the middle of Shinjuku.

My budget is about 150 bucks for both the grip and the thumb rest if possible. Should I just stick with the official stuff or is there some third party brand like Squarehood or JJC that actually feels better in the hand? I just want it to feel secure without ruining the look of the camera...

I have a wedding to shoot in Seattle in two weeks and I'm stressing over the setup. I read that the official hand grip is a must-have but then others say just get a cheap thumb rest... it's so conflicting. Plus these 40MP files are huge and I dont know if my old SD cards will keep up or if I'm gonna hit a buffer wall. I've only got $200 left. What are the actual essential accessories I need to get through a long shoot without wasting money on junk?

I just got my hands on a brand new Fujifilm X-T5 and I am so hyped to take it on my trip to Tokyo next month! Ive been saving up for this for like a year. But man, the official NP-W235 batteries are like 80 bucks each and I feel like Im gonna need at least three or four for long days of shooting street photography. I started looking into third-party options like Wasabi Power and SmallRig because they are way cheaper, but now Im getting nervous. I read some forum posts saying that the newer Fuji cameras have sensors that can detect non-official batteries and might give you an error message, but then other people say theyve used them for years without any issues at all. My main worry is the swelling thing... I saw a horror story about a battery getting stuck inside the chamber because it expanded and they had to send the whole camera in for repair. I really dont want to fry my sensor or brick my new baby right before my big vacation but I also dont want to drop 300 dollars just on extra batteries when that could go towards a nice prime lens instead. Do you guys actually trust the off-brand stuff for the X-series or is it better to just bite the bullet and pay the Fuji tax?

I've been shooting with Fuji for like five years now mostly using the 16-55mm 2.8 which is a beast of a lens but honestly it's way too heavy for what I want to do now. Im heading to Tokyo in three weeks for a ten day solo trip and I really want to just stick to one prime lens and focus on street photography but I am overthinking this so much it's actually making me lose sleep. My logic was that I should go with the 35mm f2 because its tiny and weather sealed and everyone says the autofocus is snappy but then I start looking at my old photos and realize a lot of my favorite street shots were wider so maybe the 23mm f2 is better?

Then I started reading about the f1.4 versions and now I'm even more confused because the image quality on the new 18mm f1.4 or the 23mm f1.4 WR is supposed to be incredible but they are so much bigger and I dont want to look like a tourist with a massive rig. I want to be invisible in the crowd at Shinjuku or Shibuya. I've always been a zoom guy so this whole limitation breeds creativity thing is stressing me out more than it should. Like what if I bring the 35 and I'm constantly backing into walls because I cant fit the scene in? Or if I bring the 23 and I'm too far away to get any good subject separation?

Heres what I have narrowed it down to so far:

23mm f2 for the size and weather sealing

35mm f1.4 for that legendary rendering people talk about

18mm f1.4 because I heard it is the sharpest thing Fuji makes

The budget is about $900 max so I could technically get a used version of the newer f1.4 lenses but I keep coming back to the size of the f2 primes. Does the character of the older lenses actually matter for street or am I just reading too many gear blogs? I'm using an X-T5 so I have the 40mp sensor which makes me think I need the newer glass to actually resolve that detail but then maybe the older 23mm f1.4 has that soul everyone talks about... honestly I just dont know. I'm looking for that one lens that can just stay on the camera the whole time and not make me regret leaving the zoom at home.

I finally snagged a silver X100V after hunting for months and I'm honestly so hyped I can barely sit still lol. I'm taking it to Japan in about three weeks for a two-week trip through Tokyo and Osaka and I really want to make sure I have everything I need before I go. I've been doing a ton of reading online and everyone says you HAVE to get a filter for weather sealing but I'm getting conflicting info. Some people say the NiSi UHD UV filter is the best because it fits under the original cap but then other folks say the official Fuji adapter ring and a regular 49mm filter is more reliable if it actually starts raining in Shinjuku.

My budget for extra bits is around $150 since the camera already cost me an arm and a leg. I'm also looking at:

a thumb grip because the body feels a bit slippery

maybe an extra battery? I hear the life isnt great

a soft shutter button but I'm scared it'll fall off or damage the thread

Do I really need a lens hood if I have a filter on there? I want to keep it pocketable but I dont want to ruin the sensor if a stray splash hits it. What are you guys actually using day-to-day when youre traveling?

I'm finally taking my trip to Tokyo next month and I really want to nail down my kit before I hop on the plane. I've been rocking the X-T30 II for a while now but I've mostly used the kit zoom and honestly it's just too bulky and slow for what I want to do over there. I'm looking for something super low profile so I dont stick out too much in the crowds. My budget is pretty firm at $600 because I gotta save some cash for all the ramen and vintage stores in Shimokitazawa.

I've been going back and forth between the 23mm f2 and the 35mm f2. The 23mm seems like the classic street choice because of that wider field of view but I'm worried it might feel a bit too wide when I'm trying to catch someone's expression from across the street. On the other hand the 35mm f2 is tiny and the autofocus is supposedly lightning fast which is great for candid shots. Then there's the older 35mm 1.4 which everyone says has magic or whatever but I'm scared the autofocus will be too slow for moving subjects in busy alleys.

I tend to shoot a lot at night so the f2 might be pushing it but I value the size more than anything else. If you had to pick one for a week of heavy walking and fast-paced street shooting in a city like Tokyo, which one would you go with?

I finally pulled the trigger on the X-T5 and man my wallet is hurting lol. I've been looking at what else I need to actually use this thing properly because the grip feels a bit shallow for my hands. I keep seeing the SmallRig handgrip mentioned everywhere but then I saw a post saying it makes the camera feel way too heavy and another guy said it makes it hard to swap the battery out quickly. Then there is the whole SD card situation. Everyone says go V90 but those things are like 100 bucks for one card which is insane after what I just spent.

I'm going to Japan in like three weeks for a huge trip and I really need to get this sorted before I leave. I'm mainly doing street photography but might try some 4k video. Here is what I'm looking for:

Something to make the grip better without adding a ton of weight to the bag

Batteries that wont explode (is third party okay or should I stick to Fuji??)

A strap that doesnt dig into my neck after 10 hours of walking around Tokyo

Budget is strictly under $200 for everything together

I'm just kinda lost because there are a million options and half of them look like junk from some random brand I've never heard of. What are the actual essentials that I wont regret buying?
