Hey everyone! I finally pulled the trigger on the DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo, and I’m absolutely loving the flight performance so far. However, I’m a bit underwhelmed with the standard shoulder bag that comes in the box. While it’s portable, it feels a bit cramped once I pack in the RC 2 controller, the charging hub, and extra batteries. I’m really worried about the joysticks or the gimbal getting squashed when I’m traveling.
I’m looking for a more robust carrying case—ideally something with a custom-cut foam interior. I’ve been browsing a few hard-shell options from brands like Nanuk and GPC, but I can’t decide if a heavy-duty waterproof case is overkill for casual weekend trips. On the other hand, I’ve seen some semi-rigid cases that look sleeker but might not survive a drop. My main priority is finding something that fits the drone securely without needing to remove the propellers every single time.
Does anyone have a specific carrying case they’ve been using for their Air 3 that they absolutely love? I’d prefer something that balances solid impact protection with enough room for a few ND filters and cables. What are your top recommendations for keeping this kit safe in the field?

Nice drone! Honestly, i'd compare these:
- Nanuk 915 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Air 3: IP67, absolute tank.
- Smatree Hard Carrying Case for DJI Air 3: Lighter/cheaper.
Both fit props-on perfectly! Thoughts?

Quick reply, dense foam prevents gimbal crush. Try these for ur kit: - GPC DJI Air 3 Hard Case: Pro: Ultra-tough. Con: Heavy.

yo, watch out, soft bags are actually a HUGE risk for gimbal stress since they offer zero protection!! I went through this last year comparing stock vs semi-rigid vs hard cases. I agree with the hard shell suggestions—it's basically a tank. Honestly, I'm sooo satisfied with my hard case... it's heavy but knowing it's CRUSH-PROOF gives me total peace of mind. Safety-first always wins tho! peace

I've been flying DJI stuff for years and in my experience, the Lykus Titan MA310 Hard Case for DJI Air 3 is the way to go. I've tried many different setups but I always come back to Lykus because the foam is just better than the cheap generic stuff you find on Amazon. It fits the RC 2 perfectly and you dont have to worry about the sticks getting jammed or the gimbal taking any pressure. If you want something a bit more budget-friendly but still very solid, check out the STARTRC Air 3 Waterproof Hard Case. Its basically a tank. Tbh, a hard case is never overkill... I've seen too many people regret using those soft bags after a simple trunk mishap. Plus, both of these have dedicated slots for your ND filters and cables so everything stays tidy. Stick with a hard shell and you wont have to stress every time you pack the car.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I totally get why everyone jumps straight to the heavy duty stuff, but honestly its ridiculous we even have to have this conversation. It drives me crazy that after dropping over a grand on a drone, the included bag is basically a glorified lunch box. I have been so happy with the Air 3 itself, but DJI really drops the ball with their accessories lately... feels like a total scam to make us buy third party just to get basic protection. While hard cases are cool and all, I actually find them a bit of a hassle for quick trips, and it is frustrating that there is no middle ground that actually works. Most of these semi-rigid brands are just charging a premium for the same cheap materials you see everywhere else. It is such a headache trying to find quality that does not break the bank or weigh ten pounds. We are all just trying to keep our gear safe without feeling like we are lugging around a suitcase for a casual flight at the park. The quality of these accessory brands is definitely going downhill while prices keep creeping up... its just annoying.
