Hey everyone! I’m prepping for a two-week photography trip and I'll be lugging my Nikon D850 along. While I’ve got my lenses sorted, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the smaller gear. I want to stay mobile without missing anything crucial. I’m already looking at extra EN-EL15 batteries and maybe a more compact Peak Design strap, but I’m wondering what else is vital for a Nikon setup? Are there specific travel-sized cleaning kits or rugged SD card cases you’d recommend for heavy shooting? I’m trying to keep my bag weight down while ensuring my gear stays protected. What are your must-have travel accessories that every Nikon DSLR user should pack?

Oh man, the D850 is such a beast! Honestly, you dont need to spend a fortune on the official Nikon accessories to keep it running. For batteries, I highkey recommend the Wasabi Power Battery for Nikon EN-EL15C 2-Pack. It's usually like $30 for two batteries and a dual charger—literally a fraction of the OEM price and they've never failed me on a trip! Also, for storage, just grab a few SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-I Card V30 cuz they're basically always on sale for under $25. Keep 'em safe in a Beeway Water Resistant SD Card Case which is super cheap but reallyyy rugged. Basically, you get the protection without the photography tax lol. One more quick tip: grab a Giottos Rocket Air Blaster Large for dust. It's way cheaper than fancy sensor kits and works for most stuff anyway. GL on your trip tho!! 👍

Yo, just catching up on this thread. I've been shooting with a D850 for years and yeah, it's literally a beast but it eats through buffer space if youre not careful... honestly, you gotta watch the weight too. Check out these budget resources for your trip:
1. Lexar Professional 1667x 128GB SDXC UHS-II Card - You need UHS-II for the D850's 45MP files. These are usually $35, way cheaper than the SanDisk equivalents.
2. LensPen NLP-1 Lens Cleaner - Best $10 you'll spend. Compact and much better than carrying a huge kit.
3. Altura Photo Professional Rain Cover - Its like $15. Don't risk that D850 body bc of a sudden downpour... wait actually, it is weather sealed but better safe than sorry, right? Pro tip: Check out the 'Used' section on B&H or KEH for genuine Nikon accessories if you want the real deal without the MSRP price tag. gl!

+1 to what was said earlier! Honestly, I’m sooo happy with my budget setup. I compared using the K&F Concept Microfiber Cleaning Cloths 6-Pack ($9) vs the LensPen NLP-1 ($15). Cloths are basically essential for rain, but the pen is way better for smudges. I’m still a bit of a beginner with sensor cleaning, so I just stick to these. Works reallyyy well and keeps costs down! gl!
