Hey everyone! I recently upgraded to the DJI Mini 4 Pro, and while the camera is incredible, I’m struggling to get that smooth, cinematic look in my daytime footage. Since the drone has a fixed f/1.7 aperture, my shutter speeds are way too high when it's sunny out, making the movement look really choppy. I know I need a good set of ND filters to fix this, but there are so many options out there that I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I’ve been looking at the Freewell 'All Day' 6-pack and the official DJI set, but I’m worried about potential color shifts or adding too much weight to the gimbal. I’ve read a few horror stories about heavy filters causing gimbal calibration errors, and I definitely want to avoid that. Also, I’m curious if it’s worth stepping up to the ND/PL (polarized) versions to help with glare over water and snow, or if they just make things more complicated to adjust mid-flight.

For those of you who have been flying the Mini 4 Pro, which ND filters have you found to be the best in terms of glass quality and ease of use? Do you have a specific brand or kit that you swear by for bright daylight conditions?

To add to the point above: honestly, you dont need to drop a ton of money to get that cinematic look. I've been using the Skyreat ND Filters 6-Pack for DJI Mini 4 Pro for a few months now and I'm super happy with them. They're usually way cheaper than the big name brands but the glass quality is legit... basically zero color shifting in my experience. Quick tip from someone who's been flying since the early Phantom days: skip the polarized stuff for now. They're a total headache to adjust on a drone this small and usually not worth the extra cost unless you're always filming waves or snow. If you want something slightly fancier but still budget-friendly, the PGYTECH ND Filter Set for DJI Mini 4 Pro (ND 8 16 32 64) is also great. Both sets are light enough that the gimbal wont even notice they're there, so dont sweat those calibration horror stories.

Just sharing my experience: I've tried the DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filters Set (ND16/64/256) vs Freewell DJI Mini 4 Pro All Day 6-Pack ND Filters and the K&F Concept DJI Mini 4 Pro ND Filter Kit. DJI is basically the lightest and safest, Freewell has zero color shift, and K&F is the cheapest. I dont have gimbal issues with any of them, but I stick to DJI for safety... peace!

For your situation, I actually started with the Freewell set and I'm sooo happy. I was terrified the gimbal would freak out, but basically zero issues so far... - Stick to regular NDs first
- ND/PL is cool but kinda tricky Honestly, a decent set makes a HUGE difference for shutter speeds. My footage looks way better now! Do u think you'll fly near water much? gl!

To add to the point above: looks like the others covered the essentials, DJI for safety, Freewell for the glass, and the budget options for value. Honestly, I've been super happy with the reliability of filters these days... gimbal errors are way less common than they used to be if you stick to the main brands. Quick question tho, what kind of lighting are you usually flying in? Like, are you mostly out at high noon where you need the really heavy stops, or are you more of a sunrise/sunset flyer? Also, do you plan on color grading your footage or do you need it looking perfect straight off the card? That usually determines which set is actually worth the money for you.
