I just picked up a brand new Nikon Z6 II and I'm absolutely loving the switch to mirrorless so far! However, I’m a bit overwhelmed by the technical shift and want to make sure I have everything I need to get started properly. I’ve already got a kit lens, but I’m looking for advice on the 'must-have' accessories. Specifically, which CFexpress Type B or XQD cards do you find most reliable? Also, is it worth investing in a screen protector or an extra EN-EL15c battery right away for long shooting days? I’m planning a landscape trip soon and want to be fully prepared. What are the top three essentials you’d recommend for a Z6 II beginner?

Totally agree! Ngl tho, I think you'd save cash with the Lexar Professional CFexpress Type B Card SILVER Series 128GB for $100. A cheap screen protector is also essential. peace!

So awesome you're diving into the Z6 II! It's an amazing piece of gear. I remember my first big trip to the mountains... forgot a backup power source and missed the best light of the whole week. It was soul-crushing!! Definitely dont be me. For reliability without breaking the bank, these are my go-to's:

sooo, i've been shooting with my Z6 II for years and it's GREAT. get the Sony 128GB CEB-G Series CFexpress Type B Memory Card cuz CFexpress speeds clear the buffer way faster than XQD. also, highkey grab an extra Nikon EN-EL15c Rechargeable Li-ion Battery... mirrorless EVFs drain power quick. TL;DR: Card, spare battery, and a Vello Screen Protector Ultra for Nikon Z6 II are the essentials. you're gonna love it!!
