I just got the Fujifilm X-T5 and I am so excited to finally take real photos but honestly I am so lost. I am going to Zion National Park next month and I want the sharpest pictures possible because I heard this camera has 40 megapixels and that is a lot!
I saw people talking about the 10-24mm lens and then some 14mm one but I dont really understand if zoom or no zoom is better for being sharp. My logic was that a fixed lens might be better? But I am scared I wont be able to fit the whole mountain in. My budget is around 900 dollars. Sorry if this is a dumb question but what should I get?
Agreed, primes are the way to go for that 40MP sensor to resolve detail properly. I once lugged a heavy zoom through the Narrows and it just got in the way. You might want to consider the Fujifilm XF 14mm f/2.8 R for those wide shots.
Honestly, you're gonna be so happy with that X-T5. I've been using mine for a while and it's a total beast if you feed it the right glass. For Zion, you definitely want something wide but reliable so you dont miss the scale of those cliffs.
