What are the best ND filters for the DJI Air 3?

Grabbed an Air 3 for a beach trip this Friday but I'm stuck on filters. I looked at Freewell and PolarPro online.

My logic was the Freewell split NDs might be weird with the dual cameras... I read mixed things about color shifts. Should I just stick to the standard ones for the telephoto lens too?

> alignment issues on the dual lenses Like someone mentioned, alignment is risky. I would suggest PGYTECH DJI Air 3 ND Filter Set ND8 16 32 64 since it meets strict weight tolerances so you dont strain gimbal motors.

I've spent a lot of time with the Air 3 and you definitely want to be careful with split ND designs. The way the dual sensors are positioned means the gradient line rarely hits the horizon correctly for both the wide and telephoto simultaneously. It's usually a headache. I would suggest sticking to high-quality standard sets for your trip:

  • Freewell DJI Air 3 Bright Day 6-Pack
  • Their optics are surprisingly neutral lately and the 6-pack covers almost every lighting scenario you'll hit at the beach.
  • PolarPro DJI Air 3 Vivid Collection
  • These are my go-to when I need maximum color accuracy, tho they are a bit pricier. Make sure to re-calibrate the gimbal once the filter is on. Even tiny weight differences can stress the motors over time if you dont.

Honestly, everyone here is making some fantastic points! The consensus is basically to stay away from the split stuff because of those alignment issues on the dual lenses, and keeping the exposure consistent across both sensors is a total must. If you want my take, just go with K&F Concept. Their glass is amazing lately and the price is so much more reasonable than the high-end stuff! I love their filters because they feel super solid and I never worry about weird color shifts ruining my beach shots. Definitely the way to go if you want reliability without breaking the bank. Just get one of their standard multi-packs and youll be golden for your trip. Seriously, it is the safest bet for high-quality footage without the stress!

To add to the point above: split sets werent as good as expected tho. The set I got had weird t-stop inconsistencies, so I use standard ones to keep the dual-sensor exposure values synced.

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.
