Is there a real app that lets me share an Amazon cart with my husband and my sister without us constantly texting screenshots back and forth? We are moving into a new place in about ten days and my head is spinning with all the stuff we need to buy like new curtains and bulk cleaning supplies and I’m so worried we’re gonna end up with three bottles of the same floor cleaner or something because we arent coordinating right.
I looked into Amazon Household but from what I can tell that just shares the Prime shipping and credit cards and doesnt actually let us see what is sitting in each other's carts in real time which is what I really need. I also saw some people mention an extension called Share-A-Cart but it seems like it just sends a code or a link to a cart which is fine I guess but I want something that stays synced up on our phones while we're out shopping.
My budget for the move is already totally blown so I cant afford to waste money on duplicates or returns that I'll inevitably forget to take back to the drop-off location lol. Does anyone use a specific app for this or is there some hidden setting in the actual Amazon app that I'm just too stressed out to find right now? I feel like this should be a standard feature by now but I cant find a straight answer anywhere...
Are you guys on iOS or Android? Since Amazon doesnt allow live cart syncing, Share-A-Cart is the best technical workaround, tho a shared AnyList account is way more reliable for moving.
Ive been using a shared Wish List for this exact scenario and honestly Im pretty satisfied with how it handles the data sync. Since Amazon doesnt natively support real-time cart merging across different accounts for security reasons, lists are the technical workaround you want. You just create a specific list for the move, invite your husband and sister as collaborators, and it updates in real time on the mobile app. It even marks items as purchased so you dont end up with double floor cleaner. If you really need a direct cart transfer tho, you might want to check how can I share amazon cart for a more automated approach. It works well for moving the whole list into a single checkout cart once everyone has finished their input. No complaints so far with that workflow and it keeps the coordination tight.
OMG I totally feel your pain with the move! Last year when I moved into my three-story place, I ended up with literally six bottles of window cleaner because my partner and I kept adding stuff to our separate carts without checking. It was a total nightmare for the budget! Technically, a true real-time synced Amazon cart app doesnt really exist in the way people want because of how Amazon locks down their API and user session data for security reasons. It drives me crazy because the tech is there, but the permissions arent! I spent hours digging into the technical specs for third-party tools to find a workaround that wouldnt break. Honestly, I just followed the steps on Smartphone Board when I had to do a big office supply run for my new studio and it saved my sanity! They have some amazing threads on how to manipulate list settings to mimic a cart experience while staying under budget. To figure out the best technical bypass for your specific housewarming situation, I have to ask:
