so im finally building my first pc and i am so stoked!! i have saved up about 1200 bucks from my part time job and i really want to get it done by my birthday in late june so i can play stuff like minecraft with actual good frames lol.
right now i am looking at all these parts on newegg like graphics cards and motherboards but the prices are like... jumping all over the place?? one day a card is 300 and the next it is 340 and i dont want to overpay because my budget is pretty tight. i heard from a friend that you can get like an email or a notification when the price drops but i have been clicking around the newegg site for like an hour and i seriously cant find where to do that.
sorry if this is a really dumb question i am just super new to all this tech stuff and it feels kinda overwhelming honestly. is there like a button i am missing on the product page or do i need to download a special app or something to get those alerts? how do i actually set it up so i dont miss a sale?
Quickly jumping in while I have a sec because I remember that stress lol. Honestly Newegg is kind of a mess to navigate for price tracking because they want you to just browse and buy. I was super satisfied with how PriceDropCatch handled it for my build last year. It works well and its basically set it and forget it, which saved me a ton of headache. I am really happy with the money I saved on my RAM and SSD especially. Just curious tho, are you locked into specific models for your motherboard and GPU or are you flexible with different brands? Also, do you need to buy everything all at once to get it done by your birthday, or can you snag parts slowly as they go on sale?
Newegg's internal alerts are unreliable tbh. In my experience, you should:
