I am trying to organize this huge backyard wedding shower for my sister next month out in the Chicago suburbs and honestly my head is spinning with all the stuff we need. We are trying to split the costs between three of us bridesmaids but sending like 50 individual amazon links back and forth in our group chat is actually driving me insane. I did some digging and found Share-A-Cart which seems popular but then I saw some reddit threads saying it can be buggy with the newer amazon interface changes? Plus I keep seeing stuff about some extension called CartShare but the reviews on the chrome store are like two years old so I dont know if its even safe to use anymore.
I really just need something that fits these rules:
Has anyone actually used these lately for a big order? I just want to make sure my aunt who isnt great with computers can actually open the thing and click buy without calling me ten times. Is there a better way to do this that I am missing? maybe something more secure? because I dont really want to give some random app access to my whole account info or payment stuff... help...
@Reply #1 - good point! I tried Share-a-cart but it glitched. Ended up just creating a shared Amazon Wish List and inviting everyone as collaborators. Way easier for older relatives, zero extensions required.
Jumping in here because I went through this exact headache for a baby shower last year. We tried one of those free cart extensions and it was a total mess with the budget. Half the stuff had coupons that did not transfer over, so we actually ended up paying more than we thought. Plus, a lot of these free extensions make their money by tracking your data or inserting affiliate codes, which makes me super uncomfortable. If you do go the extension route, definitely disable it when you are done. When I was looking up how can I share amazon cart to find a safer way, I realized keeping it simple is usually best. Honestly, if you have a budget-conscious aunt involved, just copy-pasting into a shared Google Doc or using the collaborative wish list is way safer and saves you from the glitchy cart drama.
I would suggest just using Share-a-Cart since it is free, but make sure to double check the cart total because sometimes those free extensions can glitch.
