Which one is actually better for tracking price drops, Keepa or CamelCamelCamel?

Im trying to snag a discounted Dyson for my moms birthday next month and Im super stressed about missing the lowest price since I only have 300 bucks saved and cant afford more. Camel looks easier but Keepa has those crazy charts... I dont wanna mess this up.

Adding my two cents... real quick, are you looking at the V8 vacuum or the Airwrap? Knowing the specific model helps. Ive tracked Dysons for years and Camel is a decent option if you just want simple, but here are some tech bits to keep in mind:

  • Keepa tracks the Buy Box price specifically
  • Camel is better for simple long-term trends
  • Check the Amazon Warehouse for open-box deals

In my experience, Keepa is the superior choice since it tracks lighting deals and warehouse stock that Camel usually misses. Ive used both for years and the data is just more reliable.

  • Use the browser overlay directly on the page
  • Set alerts for 5 bucks below your budget If youre tired of checking prices manually, honestly PriceDropCatch is the way to go since it just pings you when things get cheap.

Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in because 300 bucks is a tight budget for a Dyson. Honestly, just go with Keepa. Camel is easier to look at but it misses those sudden price drops that only last an hour or two. If you are looking at a V8 or an older V10, those usually hit the $299 mark during sales but you gotta be fast. A few things I would suggest:

  • Set your alert for $280. Sales tax is gonna push you over that $300 limit otherwise.
  • Be careful with Renewed listings. Keepa tracks them separately but make sure you are tracking the New price since it is a gift for your mom.
  • Look at the 3-month history... if it is at a peak right now, it will likely drop again soon. Just dont panic buy. These prices bounce around constantly so you will definitely catch a deal if you stay patient.
