I'm so excited because I'm finally moving to Japan in August 2026 and I really need a solid camera before I go. My budget is strictly around $1600. I saw some blogs saying Sony is gonna have huge Prime Day deals on the A7 series this year to clear stock but then I read a thread where people said they only ever discount the really old models like the A6000. It's super confusing because I don't want to wait until July just to find out the A7 IV is still full price. Does anyone know if Sony typically puts their newer mid-range bodies on sale for Prime Day or is it mostly just lenses?
@Reply #1 - good point! I stayed safe and got the Sony Alpha a6700 APS-C Mirrorless 26MP recently. Honestly, I am so satisfied with how it works well and the AI tracking is reliable.
Catching up on this... what subjects are you shooting in Japan? Street? Landscapes? In my experience, waiting for Prime Day is risky for major travel prep.
Unfortunately, Prime Day is usually a huge letdown for current Sony gear. I had issues with waiting last year just to see old stock on sale, honestly, it wasnt as good as expected at all.
