I finally pulled the trigger on the X-T5 and man my wallet is hurting lol. I've been looking at what else I need to actually use this thing properly because the grip feels a bit shallow for my hands. I keep seeing the SmallRig handgrip mentioned everywhere but then I saw a post saying it makes the camera feel way too heavy and another guy said it makes it hard to swap the battery out quickly. Then there is the whole SD card situation. Everyone says go V90 but those things are like 100 bucks for one card which is insane after what I just spent.

I'm going to Japan in like three weeks for a huge trip and I really need to get this sorted before I leave. I'm mainly doing street photography but might try some 4k video. Here is what I'm looking for:

  • Something to make the grip better without adding a ton of weight to the bag
  • Batteries that wont explode (is third party okay or should I stick to Fuji??)
  • A strap that doesnt dig into my neck after 10 hours of walking around Tokyo
  • Budget is strictly under $200 for everything together

I'm just kinda lost because there are a million options and half of them look like junk from some random brand I've never heard of. What are the actual essentials that I wont regret buying?
