Stressing out over a $500 wedding gift run tomorrow for my sister. I saw the Shopping List tool in the app but it looks like just a basic notepad. I read they have a registry but I cant find it on mobile.

  • Needs to be shareable
  • Track prices

Does a proper gift list even exist?

Honestly the app list is kinda basic but I'm satisfied with how it handles my weekly runs. For a real registry tho, you gotta use their partner site.

  • Use the Shopping List tab for basic notes
  • Link your account to MyRegistry for sharing
  • Take screenshots to track prices It wont track price drops automatically but it's safe and reliable for me.

Been a Gold Star member for basically forever and I absolutely love a good Costco wedding haul! Honestly, the thrill of finding that perfect gift at a warehouse price is just fantastic. Went through this exact same stress when my niece got married last summer and let me tell you, the app is a bit of a heartbreaker when it comes to gift lists. You are right, that basic notepad feature is pretty underwhelming for a big $500 mission. The technical truth is that the app is mostly a web-wrapper, so it misses out on the robust registry features you see on some other retail apps. To get the real registry experience, usually skipping the app entirely and using the mobile browser version of the site is the way to go. Here is what I do to stay sane:

  • Use the Warehouse Search tool to verify stock at your specific location so you dont waste a trip
  • Open the Savings tab and heart the items there; it is a lifesaver for seeing what is currently on sale
  • Keep the Receipts tab handy to compare prices with what you bought previously But tell me, are you hunting for big-ticket stuff like OLED TVs or are you looking to build a massive bundle of kitchen gadgets? Also, are you shopping at your local warehouse or trying to do this all online? Seriously, if you are doing a $500 run, check that Member-Only Savings section first! It saved me a ton on a Vitamix last month!

Honestly, if you are looking to stretch that 500 bucks for the wedding, the app is actually pretty decent for pre-gaming the trip. Usually, it is pretty easy to spot the Warehouse Savings tab before heading out, and I am always satisfied with the deals I find there. There isnt a fancy gift list feature that tracks live price drops like some other sites, but you can definitely work the system to get more for your money. Here are a few ways to keep things budget-friendly:

  • Check the While Supplies Last section in the app for deep discounts on random housewares.
  • Scour the Instant Savings page to see which appliances have those big 50 or 100 dollar off manufacturer rebates.
  • Use the In-Warehouse search tool to confirm stock so you dont drive there for nothing. Ngl, the app is simple but it works well for snagging deals. Just grab those Member Only Savings and you might even have enough leftover for a celebratory hot dog. Keep it simple and you wont stress as much.
