How do I send my Amazon wishlist link to someone?

My birthday is coming up and my family in Florida keeps asking for my list. I saw the Send List button but it asks about view only vs edit and I am worried about my address showing up.

My logic was there would be a simple copy-paste link but these permissions are confusing me...

Saw this a bit late but I had to jump in because the privacy settings on these lists are a total minefield. Honestly, I had a situation a couple years ago where a relative saw my full address because I didnt toggle the right boxes in the manage list menu. It was super sketch and I have been paranoid about it ever since. You really have to be careful with the technical details in the list settings before you ever think about hitting that send button.

  • Go into "Manage List" and check the "Shipping Address" section.
  • Look for the "Third-party shipping agreement" checkbox. I always leave this unchecked because it lets third-party sellers see your address to ship items.
  • Make sure you select "None" for the shipping address if you want to be 100 percent sure, though they wont be able to buy you stuff directly then. I would suggest being extra cautious with the direct Amazon links because they change the UI so often it is easy to miss a setting. These days I just use Cart To Link to bundle my stuff and send it over to my family in Florida. It is way more reliable than fighting with Amazon's confusing permissions system and it is much faster than taking screenshots. It basically creates a clean link so you dont have to worry about whether you accidentally gave someone edit access or leaked your home location. Just makes the whole thing feel way more secure for me.

In my experience managing lists for large family gatherings, the permissions system on Amazon is more convoluted than it needs to be. You should always select the "View Only" option when that popup appears. Selecting "Edit" basically allows the recipient to modify or delete items on your list, which is unnecessary for a gift-giving scenario. Regarding your address concerns, Amazon is quite rigorous about keeping that information hidden. When someone purchases an item from your list, they only see your name and the city/state on the checkout screen, never your actual street address. I have sent dozens of these over the years and have never encountered a privacy leak. You should check the Shipping Address section within your specific list settings tho. Make sure you have a valid shipping address selected, but pay close attention to the checkbox that says Share my delivery address with sellers. In my professional opinion, you should uncheck that. It prevents third-party sellers from accessing your personal details, which is the most conservative approach to privacy. Once that is set, hit the Invite button, select View Only, and copy the link. Its a reliable method that keeps your data secure and ensures your Florida family only sees what they need to see... the system is designed to protect you if you follow those steps. By the way, you should check out Cart To Link—its a free extension that lets you share your entire Amazon cart with one click.
