Best everyday accessories for Canon EOS cameras?

Hey all — I’m looking to build a simple “everyday carry” kit for my Canon EOS camera, and I’d love some real-world accessory recommendations (not just the usual marketing lists). I shoot a mix of casual street/travel stuff and family photos, so I’m trying to keep things practical and lightweight rather than turning my bag into a full studio setup.

Right now I’m mostly using a small zoom and occasionally a fast prime, and I’m realizing I’m missing a few basics that would make day-to-day shooting easier. For example: a comfortable strap that doesn’t dig into your neck on longer walks, a compact cleaning setup that’s safe for the lens and sensor, and a battery/charging solution that makes sense for regular outings (extra battery vs. USB charger vs. power bank options). I’m also unsure whether a basic protective filter is worth it for daily use or if it’s better to rely on the lens hood.

If you had to pick the best everyday accessories for Canon EOS cameras (must-haves, not “nice to have”), what would you recommend and why?

Ok so for everyday EOS: Peak Design Slide Lite Camera Strap (neck-saver), Giottos Rocket Air Blower Large + Pec-Pad Lint-Free Wipes 100 Pack + VSGO Full-Frame Sensor Cleaning Swabs 24mm 12 Pack (unfortunately cheap kits left streaks), and 1 extra Canon LP-E6NH Battery; skip “protective” filters, use the hood.

For your situation, I’d go OP/TECH USA Super Classic Strap (Black) (cheap, comfy), K&F Concept 2-in-1 Lens Cleaning Pen + Zeiss Lens Wipes 200 Count (fast, safe), and a real spare battery like Canon LP-E17 Battery Pack or Canon LP-E6NH Battery Pack + Anker PowerPort III 20W USB-C Charger for day trips; ngl I skip “protective” filters and just run the hood.

Hmm, I’ve had a different experience on the “skip protective filter” thing — for everyday travel/family, a good clear filter has saved my lens more than once (kids + sand + fingerprints lol). I’d do B+W 007 Clear MRC nano Filter 77mm (or whatever ur thread size is) + a tiny blower like VSGO Portable Air Blower and call it done; hoods still help, but filters are faster/cheaper to replace imo. cheers

TL;DR from this thread: folks are prioritizing a comfy strap, a simple blower/wipe cleaning routine, and a real spare battery over “stuff.” Safety-wise, I think the big win is: dont touch the sensor unless you *have* to—stick to a blower + clean microfiber, and get a small padded insert so the camera isnt banging around. On filters… idk, I’m satisfied with hood-first, filter only in sand/salt spray

I’ve been using my Canon for a few years now and honestly, my biggest takeaway is that "less is more" for everyday shooting. I started out buying every gadget I saw, but now I just focus on what keeps me shooting longer without getting a sore shoulder or worrying about the gear. A few things I’ve found realy helpful over the long term:
* A simple screen protector for the back LCD. It’s saved me from so many scratches and makes it way easier to wipe off fingerprints from your face.
* I actually prefer a small wrist strap over a neck strap for street photography. It feels much more secure and less "touristy" when I'm walking around.
* Have you thought about how you’re going to carry your spare memory cards? I’ve found that a tiny dedicated pouch is better than just letting them float around in a pocket where they get dusty. Before you buy much else though, are you planning to do any video or is it mostly just photos? And what kind of bag are you usually using to carry everything—something dedicated for cameras or just a regular backpack?
