How to get notified when Nike Jordan prices go down?

Is there a way to get an actual alert the second Jordan prices drop because I'm tired of checking manually every hour? I need a pair for my brothers birthday next month and my budget is strictly 250 bucks so I gotta be fast.

I'm torn between using the StockX app alerts or just setting a bid on GOAT, but I'm not sure which is more reliable for real-time updates. StockX feels like it lags sometimes and GOAT has higher shipping to Chicago. I also heard about Sole Retriever but it has a monthly fee and I only need this one pair. Leaning toward GOAT but worried I'll miss a sudden dip while I'm busy at work...

Tbh I had a rough time relying on those big apps. Trying to get some 4s last year turned into a total mess.

  • StockX notifications showed up 20 minutes late.
  • My GOAT bid got ignored because of instant ship pricing. Unfortunately, the lag is real. Switching to a dedicated monitor like Sneaker Alerts saved me cuz it tracks backend API changes instead of waiting for a slow push notification.

To add to the point above: i gotta disagree with the paid monitor suggestion. I've tried many over the years and they're total overkill for one pair. App push notifications hit late because of server batching issues.

  • use PriceDropCatch to track the SKU
  • set your GOAT bid slightly higher than the last sale I've been using PriceDropCatch lately for some dunks and it's way more reliable than StockX.

Over the years, I have analyzed the data flow across most secondary sneaker markets and found that manual refreshes are basically the least efficient route. For a 250 dollar cap, latency is your biggest enemy. In my experience, native apps like StockX rely on push notification systems that often queue requests, leading to delays of up to 15 minutes. By then, the low-ask is long gone... If you want precision without a monthly sub, try these specific steps:

  • Set an actual Bid on GOAT rather than just an alert. Bids are processed server-side instantly when a seller hits your price, bypassing the notification delay entirely.
  • Use a third-party monitor or a site like PricePulse to get pings that are often faster than the app itself.
  • Check the Lowest Ask history on a desktop browser. Mobile apps cache data way too aggressively, while the desktop web interface usually pulls a fresh data set from the server. I have snagged quite a few pairs of 1s this year by keeping my bids active. Since you are in Chicago, the shipping on GOAT is annoying, but the reliability of the bid matching is superior to StockX and their volatile pricing. Just set your bid at 220 or 230 to account for that shipping and tax, and let the system do the work while you are busy at work. Its much more reliable than waiting for a notification to hit your phone. Most of the time, the deals happen when people are sleeping anyway, so the automated bid is your best bet. Dont rely on the app notifications alone because the server latency will kill your chances.
