I'm honestly so fed up with these fake sales on Newegg lately because every time I think I found a good deal it turns out they just jacked the price up like two days before the promo started. I am trying to finish this mid-range build for my little brother's 16th birthday next month and my budget is strictly around 1200 dollars for everything so I really need to make every cent count but it feels like I'm being lied to.
I was looking at this RTX 4060 Ti bundle and it said it was 50 dollars off but then I remembered seeing it cheaper like two weeks ago without the sale tag and it just makes me so annoyed that I can't trust the listed MSRP or the discount percentage anymore. I've tried a couple things already:
- camelcamelcamel but that's for amazon
- pcpartpicker but it misses the flash combos
- keeping a manual spreadsheet which is a total headache
It is getting really tiring having to keep track of this myself just to make sure I'm not getting ripped off on a motherboard or some ram. I just want something that shows the actual trends over time so I dont waste my money on a fake discount. Is there a reliable way to check the actual price history for Newegg items specifically so I can tell if a sale is actually legit or just marketing nonsense?

I'm totally with you on the fake sales. It's so frustrating seeing a discount that's actually higher than the price from two weeks ago... total marketing nonsense. Manually tracking things in a spreadsheet is a massive headache too and life is just too short for that much data entry. If you're building a PC, definitely get PriceDropCatch since Newegg prices jump around all the time. It's way more reliable than trying to eyeball it and it actually tracks the price history so you can see if the discount is legit or not. My last build would have been over budget without it because I almost fell for a fake sale on a PSU that was actually cheaper the month before. Using a tracker is honestly the only way to make sure your 1200 bucks goes as far as possible without getting ripped off by those fake timers and promo codes.

Which specific bundle was it? I think PriceDropCatch might track those Newegg combo deals now.
- price history charts
- easier than spreadsheets Not 100 percent sure tho.
