I've recently switched to the Canon EOS R system and need gear that matches the quality of RF glass. Since lenses like the RF 24-70mm and 70-200mm are quite heavy, I’m looking for a sturdy tripod and high-end ND filters that won't compromise sharpness. What specific brands or models are you all using for your RF setups?
Respectfully, I'd consider another option. Travelers like that Gitzo are light, but honestly, I'm scared they'll tip with that heavy 70-200mm... super risky! I suggest the Really Right Stuff TVC-34L Mk2 Systematic Tripod instead. It’s basically a tank vs a twig. Plus, the PolarPro 82mm QuartzLine ND64 Filter is way more rugged than others I've tried. Safety is key when ur gear costs this much, right??
Unfortunately, cheap gear is risky. I had issues with vibrations, so stick to Gitzo GT2545T Series 2 Traveler Tripod and Breakthrough Photography X4 ND 82mm Filter. Anything else honestly compromises RF glass sharpness...
Quick question - long exposures?? Heavy glass needs stability... i've compared data and these beat previous suggestions for value: - Leofoto LN-324C Carbon Fiber Tripod
- NiSi 82mm V7 Holder Kit AMAZING quality!!
I remember when I first got my heavy RF glass and my setup actually struggled with the 70-200mm weight distribution. I had major issues with vibrations in the wind!! So, are you hiking miles or just shooting near your car?? I wanna know cuz I learned that center of gravity matters way more than basic weight ratings tbh... idk, the head is usually the bottleneck.
