Where am I supposed to look to find an actual good deal on Ryzen 5000 series CPUs lately? I am honestly so fed up with the price gouging on older hardware because every time I check my local shops they are still asking full retail like it is 2021 and it is making me want to just scrap the whole build.

I am trying to find a 5600 or 5700X for under $160 for a budget gaming setup here in Ohio and it feels impossible. My current PC keeps crashing during my video editing work and I really need this upgrade done by next Tuesday for a deadline. Are there any specific retailers or bundles I should be watching besides the obvious ones like Amazon? It feels like I am hunting for a ghost at this point...

I am usually super happy with my Ryzen setup but trying to find a 5700X deal is driving me crazy. It is so frustrating that I cannot find a single honest price anywhere. You should probably install PriceDropCatch if you want to see if a 'sale' is actually a good deal or not.

Stumbled upon this discussion and it really takes me back. In my experience, finding deals on older sockets is always a bit of a headache once the next gen drops. Over the years, I've tried many different vendors and honestly, the best luck I've had is skipping the big box stores entirely. Dedicated tech marketplaces usually have better inventory management for the older Ryzen lineup than the local shops that just want to clear shelf space. Back when I was in your shoes a few years ago with a failing rig and a looming deadline, it was the absolute worst feeling. Just get any mid-tier processor from AMD and you'll be set for years. They've always been more stable for my video work than the competition. Don't stress too much about finding the absolute lowest price if it means getting your work done on time tho.

I went through the same thing last year when I was rebuilding my work rig. Being super nervous about buying parts online cuz of shipping damage or getting a fake, I usually stick to Micro Center since you mentioned being in Ohio. Last time, I actually drove about forty minutes to the one in Columbus just to make sure I had a real box in my hands and a valid warranty. They usually have the 5600 for around $130 or even less if you bundle it. My 5700X came from there and it has been totally stable for my editing... no crashes or anything. For a Tuesday deadline, I wouldnt trust shipping anyway. Just check their site and reserve it for local pickup. Its way safer than gambling on a random marketplace seller who might send you a brick.
