When is the best time of year to get Newegg deals?

When is the absolute best time of year to actually get the lowest prices on Newegg because I am literally staring at my cart right now and I feel like if I click buy I'm gonna regret it in two weeks. I've been watching prices like a hawk and it feels like they change every single day which is making me super anxious because I dont want to waste my $900 budget on something that'll be $150 cheaper next month.

Right now I'm torn between two main paths for my build. Option A is upgrading my GPU to an RTX 4070 Super, maybe pairing it with a new PSU since mine is like 7 years old and probably gonna explode lol. Option B is doing a full platform swap to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D bundle with DDR5 ram because my current CPU is definitely bottlenecking everything I try to play. Newegg has these Shell Shocker deals and then there's the Fantasetech thing they do but I missed the summer one and now I'm looking at these Back to School sales vs just waiting for the absolute chaos of Black Friday.

I live in a drafty place in Ohio and my current PC is basically a space heater so I really need something more efficient before the winter hits and I'm stuck inside gaming all day. My timeline is pretty flexible but I'd love to have it built for the big fall releases. Is Black Friday actually the lowest price for components like GPUs and motherboards or is that just for generic stuff like TVs and laptops? I've heard people say that Labor Day has better component deals sometimes but then I see those Newegg Eggspress deals and get tempted to just buy it now. I'm just really worried that if I wait until November everything will be out of stock because of the holiday rush and then I'll be stuck with my old rig for another year. Has anyone actually tracked these prices over the long term or is it all just random luck...

Honestly, if you are running a 7-year-old power supply, you really might want to consider replacing that before buying anything else. It is a significant risk to pair a new RTX 4070 Super with an aging PSU that could fail and damage your new hardware. I would suggest prioritizing reliability over waiting for the absolute bottom price. Regarding Newegg timing, while Black Friday offers the lowest nominal prices, you should be careful about inventory shortages. Popular components like the 7800X3D often go out of stock during the holiday rush, which might leave you waiting until next year. I have found that late September sales often provide a safer balance between discounts and actual availability. Just a heads up, PriceDropCatch works great for tracking specific components if you're waiting for a price drop.
