Best extra batteries and charger for DJI RS 4?

Just picked up a DJI RS 4 and I’m trying to sort out a solid power setup before a few long shoot days. The stock battery is fine, but I’d love a couple of reliable extra batteries plus a charger that can top them up quickly between takes (or overnight). I’m seeing a lot of third‑party options online and I’m a bit worried about compatibility, charging speed, and whether any of them cause warnings or weird performance issues. Ideally I want something travel-friendly and not crazy expensive (budget around $150–$250). What extra batteries and charger are you using with the RS 4, and which ones should I avoid?

Ok so TL;DR: I’d stick to DJI power… third‑party was weird for me. Option A: DJI RS 4 Battery Grip + a spare grip — pricey but zero warnings, charges predictably. Option B: DJI RS BG70 High-Capacity Battery Grip — more runtime, but bulkier for travel. Option C (avoid, imo): random “RS 4 compatible” grips on Amazon… I had issues with one (charge % jumping + occasional overtemp warning). For charging, I just use a solid USB‑C PD 65W brick + multiport PD charger overnight, works.”

Story time: I tried two routes with my RS 4. Option A was just grabbing a decent PD wall brick + cable: UGREEN Nexode 100W USB-C Charger + Anker PowerLine III USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W 6ft. Worked, but honestly charging speed felt… inconsistent, like it’d negotiate weird sometimes.

Option B (way better for me) was a small PD power bank for between takes: INIU Power Bank 20000mAh 65W USB-C Portable Charger. No warnings, topped up faster, and travel-friendly. Option C was a random no-name “RS4 battery” kit—had issues with fit + sketchy temps, returned it asap. gl!

Hey, i feel u — gimbals are awesome until you’re 6 hours into a day and the power plan is vibes-only 😅

Background/why it matters: the RS 4 is kinda picky about voltage + negotiation. So the “cheap random USB-C charger + random cable” combo is usually what causes slow charging or flaky behavior, not always the battery itself. If you want zero drama, focus on a good USB-C PD charger + solid cable first.

What I’d do in your budget: run the RS 4 off a proper PD power bank (instead of gambling on off-brand internal batteries). I’ve been happy with Anker 737 Power Bank (PowerCore 24K) 24000mAh 140W — it’s travel-friendly, charges fast, and you can also top up your phone/lav/etc. Pair it with Anker 737 Charger (GaNPrime 120W) 2x USB-C + 1x USB-A or Anker 735 Charger (GaNPrime 65W) 2x USB-C + 1x USB-A for overnight + between takes. And dont cheap out on the cable: Anker 643 USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W 6ft has been solid for me.

Avoid: sketchy “RS 4 compatible” batteries that don’t clearly list USB-C PD specs / protections. If the listing is vague, it’s usually a warning-party later.

What kinda days are you doing — doc run-n-gun or tripod/locked gimbal shots? That changes how big a bank you really need. cheers
