It is significantly cheaper and the firmware is very stable since it has been out for a while. Quick tip... always use a high-speed card like the Samsung PRO Plus 256GB microSDXC. A lot of the overheating or freezing people see is just the camera struggling with slow storage. Going with the previous-gen model and a fast card is usually a safer bet for making sure your footage actually saves every time.
