Which SD card do you recommended for Osmo 360?
Honestly, I've been doing some market research lately and the price gaps between brands are wild right now. If ur trying to save some money, you really don't need to go for the most expensive "pro" labels. I've found that Samsung EVO Select is basically the budget king—it’s usually an Amazon exclusive and much cheaper than the flagship lines, but the performance is totally solid for 360 video. I also think PNY Elite-X cards are super underrated?? They've been very reliable for me in high-bitrate gear and they are usually on sale. Idk why people sleep on Silicon Power Superior V30 either, it's consistently the cheapest per GB I've seen and hits the V30 spec perfectly. Basically, as long as it's V30 rated, ur mostly just paying for the brand name at this point... not 100% sure if the "extreme" branding actually adds much for daily use, so just keep an eye on the deals and grab whatever is cheapest from those three!!! it'll save u a ton of cash over the long run.
Good picks: Samsung PRO Plus (blue), SanDisk Extreme or Extreme Pro, Lexar 1066x, Kingston Canvas Go! Plus.
Any MicroSD card are recommended. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=MicroSD+card&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50
tbh i'm not totally sure if just picking based on the brand is enough - like, i've seen even expensive cards fail when they get too hot, you know? Since these 360 cameras run so warm, i think reliability should come first over just raw speed. - I think i heard somewhere that heat management is the real killer for these cams (at least thats what i've gathered from reading around) - so you gotta be careful.
- Not 100% sure but someone told me to look for cards with higher endurance ratings rather than just the fastest ones... right?
- Honestly, just picking any card like some suggested feels a bit risky to me because losing footage is basically the worst thing that can happen when youre out shooting, you know? Maybe someone with more technical knowledge can chime in, but i'd definitely prioritize how well the card handles heat over everything else.
Nice, didn't know that
