I recently switched to an L-mount body and want to adapt my Canon EF and vintage M-mount lenses. I've looked at Sigma’s MC-21 and Novoflex, but I'm concerned about autofocus speed and overall build tightness. Are there any specific adapters you’d recommend for a rock-solid connection and reliable performance without breaking the bank?
yo, i feel u on the cost. honestly, i had issues with the Novoflex Adapter for Leica M Lens to Leica L Mount... literally $200 and it felt kinda loose?? so annoying. i swapped for the Urth M-Mount to L-Mount Lens Mount Adapter which is only $35 and way tighter. for EF, i tried a cheap Commlite EF-L Lens Mount Adapter but the AF was trash. stick to the Sigma MC-21 Mount Converter EF-L for $160... its worth it.
Respectfully, I'd take the Fotodiox Pro Fusion Adapter EF to L-Mount over the Sigma. I've used it for months and it's got way better pin protection... best choice if ur worried about build
sooo if ur looking for rock-solid, the Sigma MC-21 Mount Converter EF to L is actually the best for EF glass, even tho it's limited to AF-S... basically it kinda sucks for moving subjects but the fit is perfect. For vintage M-mount, I found the 7artisans M-Mount to L-Mount Adapter surprisingly tight for like $30. Unfortunately, third-party AF speed is never gonna match native L-mount glass, tbh. gl!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, that Sigma option is basically the only way to go for EF glass if you want it to feel rock-solid. IIRC, K&F Concept is pretty amazing for vintage stuff too: * Super affordable
* Solid metal build
* Kinda tight fit I’m pretty sure they’re like under $40, so ur not risking much. Love mine! gl!!
