Hey everyone! I’m planning a landscape-heavy trip soon and really need a solid travel tripod for my OM-D E-M1 Mark III and a couple of Panasonic Lumix lenses. Since I switched to the Micro Four Thirds system specifically for the size advantage, I want a tripod that matches that philosophy—super compact and lightweight, but still sturdy enough for long exposures. I’ve been looking at the Peak Design Carbon Fiber and some Sirui models, but I’m a bit worried about stability when I have my heavier 12-100mm f/4 lens attached. Does anyone have a favorite that fits easily into a backpack side pocket without being too top-heavy? Which specific model has been the most reliable for your MFT setup while traveling?
1. In my experience, the Sirui T-1205 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod with K-10X Ball Head is a much safer bet for that heavy 12-100mm lens than the ultra-light models.
2. I've tried many, and you really gotta hang your pack from the center hook for stability; it gets pretty top-heavy otherwise... honestly wouldnt risk it without that extra weight. gl!
Facts.
Finally someone says it. Ive been thinking this for a while but wasnt sure.
