Which compact travel tripod works best for Olympus cameras?

I’m looking for a travel tripod that matches the portability of my Olympus OM-5. Since MFT gear is so light, I want something compact for hiking that won't weigh me down but can still handle long exposures. Does anyone have a favorite carbon fiber model that fits in a carry-on? What's your go-to for travel?

In my experience, you gotta be careful with super cheap legs cuz they just don't last. I've had issues with flimsy locks failing... honestly a nightmare. For your situation, check these:
* Sirui AM-225 Carbon Fiber Tripod with B-00K Ball Head: Super stable without a center column. Best value IMO.
* Benro Slim Carbon Fiber Lightweight Travel Tripod: Cheaper, but unfortunately feels a bit flimsy in high wind. Stick with something reliable so ur gear stays safe!! peace

Story time: I actually went through this exact same struggle last year when I first started hiking with my OM system... I thought because my camera was so light, I could get away with the thinnest, most portable legs I could find. Unfortunately, it was honestly a total disaster. I bought a super cheap carbon fiber setup thinking it was a steal, but the vibration dampening was basically non-existent. Even with MFT gear, if there's even a tiny bit of wind on a ridge, your long exposures are gonna be trash because the leg sections are just too thin and flex way too much. It was sooo frustrating to get home after a long hike and realize half my shots were blurry... highkey a mood killer. Since then, I've spent way too much money testing different setups. The technical trade-off between weight and stability is real, even for us MFT shooters. My advice based on my journey: - Just get any carbon fiber travel kit from Peak Design, you literally cant go wrong there.
- Look at anything from Sirui if you want that balance of compact size and actual stability.
- Basically any carbon fiber legs from Benro or Leofoto will be a massive upgrade over the budget stuff. But yeah, I learned the hard way that you still need quality carbon weave to handle the micro-vibrations, especially if youre doing waterfall shots or Astro. Dont make the same mistake I did and buy something too flimsy just to save a few ounces... it sucks when your gear lets you down in the field. gl! peace.
