Which travel tripod is most stable for lightweight M4/3 setups?

I finally pulled the trigger on a trip to the Swiss Alps for next month and I am so hyped to finally get some decent landscape shots with my OM-5! I absolutely love the M4/3 system because it's so small but man, finding a tripod that actually matches that philosophy without being a total noodle is way harder than I thought it would be. I'm trying to keep my whole pack weight down because we're doing some pretty intense day hikes around Zermatt and I really dont want to be lugging a 5lb setup.

Ive been looking at the Peak Design travel tripod since everyone raves about how it fits in a water bottle pocket but then I see these reviews saying the thin lower legs are super shaky in even a light breeze which totally scares me for mountain shooting. Then I saw the Sirui T-025SK which is way cheaper and crazy light but some guys on a different forum said the center column is a nightmare for stability and it feels kind of cheap. My budget is like 300 bucks max so the fancy carbon PD is out of the question anyway.

What's actually going to hold steady for long exposures when the wind picks up on a ridge? Is there something middle-of-the-road that isnt a giant heavy rock but wont ruin my shots if the weather gets a bit rough?

I've dragged gear across plenty of trails, and for an OM-5, you dont need a massive rig tbh. The Slik Sprint Pro III BH Travel Tripod with SBH-100DQ Ball Head is my secret weapon. It's aluminum, cheap, and weighs almost nothing. Pro tips for the Alps:

Dont extend the thinnest bottom legs

Use a stone bag for weight

Turn off IBIS It's surprisingly stiff for such a slim profile.

Building on the earlier suggestion, leg diameter matters way more than anything else on a windy ridge. If youre worried about carbon being too flighty in a gale, a solid aluminum set like the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Aluminum Travel Tripod with Ball Head is a great shout for an OM-5.

It has enough mass to stay put when the wind kicks up.

M-lock twist legs are super reliable for quick alpine setups.

Definitely wont feel like a noodle.

In my experience, the secret to stability on a budget is ditching the center column entirely. Ive tried a bunch of travel sets over the years and they all get shaky when you extend that middle rod. Check out the Leofoto LS-224C Carbon Fiber Tripod with LH-25 Ball Head. It fits your budget and is rock solid for M4/3 gear since the legs attach directly to the apex. Much safer for those windy ridges tbh.
