Nikon has unveiled the Nikkor Z 50mm F1.4, a fast prime lens for Z-mount cameras. This new lens is nearly identical to the recently announced Nikkor Z 35mm F1.4, sharing the same dimensions of 87mm length and 75mm diameter. Weighing 420g, it's just 1% heavier than its 35mm counterpart. Interestingly, this non-S series lens is priced slightly lower than Nikon's premium 50mm F1.8 S prime. It's been suggested that this lens prioritizes character over clinical sharpness, offering photographers a different option in the classic 50mm focal length. The Nikkor Z 50mm F1.4 provides Z-mount users with another versatile choice for their photography needs, balancing speed, size, and potentially unique image characteristics.
