Canon will announce a new affordable RF lens: RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM lens tonight midnight. This lens has a 67mm filter thread.

Just saw the full specs today and honestly, I am beyond excited! This is exactly the kind of glass the RF mount needed to fill that middle ground. Technical analysis shows why this is a winner:
- Constant f/2.8 aperture in such a small form factor is incredible for street and travel photography.
- Including IS is a massive win for users on bodies without IBIS, like the R8 or R10.
- Using a 67mm thread means you wont spend a fortune on filters like the B+W 67mm Master Clear MRC Nano Filter.
- It is way more portable than the massive Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM while still giving you that pro look. I think this is gonna be the gold standard for hobbyists who want speed without the L series weight or price tag. Total game changer!

Ideal addition to my Canon R7 kit. With 16mm, 85mm, and 100-400mm lenses, this would bridge the gap perfectly in my range.
