Are there privacy-oriented alternatives to Amazon's gift list feature?

Does anybody know a good gift registry or wishlist site that isnt Amazon and actually respects your privacy? I am so sick of adding something to a private list and then seeing ads for it on every single website I visit for the next three weeks. It is honestly so creepy and I am just done with it.

I am trying to get things ready for my daughters 5th birthday party here in Seattle next month and I need a way to show her grandparents back in Boston what she actually wants. They arent super tech-savvy so it has to be easy to use but I really dont want Jeff Bezos knowing every toy my kid likes or building a profile on her before shes even in kindergarten. I tried using a shared Google Doc last year but it was a total mess and people kept buying the same things because nobody could mark them as bought.

Ideally I want something where I can just paste links from different shops- like local toy stores or Etsy- and it doesnt sell my data to a million trackers. Is there anything out there that is simple but secure? I just want a normal list that doesnt feel like a surveillance project...

Unfortunately, most platforms are disappointing regarding privacy. I had issues with mainstream sites, though Wishlephant is slightly better than expected.

  • prevents duplicate gifts
  • no invasive trackers Its fairly effective.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I found Wishlephant kinda clunky. Use ebay wishlist maker for ease, tho it tracks stuff... GiftHero is okay, but they arent safe unfortunately.
