I'm trying to get a new coffee maker for my house because we are on a super tight budget for our wedding next year. I keep missing those lightning deals on Amazon because I dont look at my phone while I'm working at my desk. It is so frustrating to see expired when I finally check! Sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask but I have no idea how to make my computer tell me when a price goes down. Is there a setting in the browser or something? I just want a little box to pop up on my screen so I dont miss it again...

Just catching up on this thread and I totally get the wedding stress. It is such a massive project and every penny counts! I have been doing the Amazon deal hunting thing for years and honestly, setting up desktop alerts was a total game changer for my workflow. If you want a really solid way to get those pings without checking your phone, you should check out PriceDropCatch if you do a lot of shopping on Amazon. I love it because it basically acts like a personal assistant for my wallet. The way these tools work is pretty cool; they monitor the back-end for price changes and then send a web push notification directly to your browser. You just need to make sure you have given the site permission to show notifications in your Chrome or Firefox settings. It takes like two seconds to set up. Once its running, a little box pops up in the corner of your monitor the second that coffee maker hits your target price. I used a similar setup for my sisters wedding gifts last year and saved literally hundreds of dollars. Its so satisfying to see that alert pop up while you are actually working. Plus, it keeps you from getting distracted by your phone every five minutes! Let me know if you need help finding the notification settings in your browser, its usually just a little padlock icon near the URL bar. Good luck with the coffee maker hunt, you are gonna find a great one!

Honestly, missing out on those lightning deals is the worst, especially when every dollar counts for a wedding. Over the years, I've tried basically every notification method out there to keep my desktop alerts clean without cluttering my system with junk. In my experience, the most reliable way is using a tool like CamelCamelCamel because they've been around forever and dont seem to mess with your privacy as much as the newer ones. I used it for my kitchen remodel and it saved me a ton. Before I walk you through the setup tho, are you looking for a specific brand like Breville or just any decent drip machine? Also, are you allowed to install extensions on your work computer or do we need to find a workaround that just sends you a browser notification without any extra software?

Stumbled on this today and honestly, I've been really satisfied using the Keepa extension. It integrates directly into the Amazon UI and tracks price history data points with high precision. You can set specific triggers for desktop pings in the settings so you dont miss anything. No complaints, it works well for catching quick drops. The technical tracking frequency is solid... way more reliable than checking manually.
