How can I get alerts for Amazon UK price reductions?

I've been staring at the same product page for days now trying to catch a deal on a Sony ZV-1 for my sisters graduation gift next month but the price on Amazon UK is all over the place. My budget is capped at £400 and right now it’s sitting at £550 which is way over what I can afford. I’m honestly so anxious about missing a random price drop while I’m busy at work or sleeping since I only have about two weeks left before the ceremony.

I did some digging online and everyone keeps saying to use CamelCamelCamel or Keepa but I’m still pretty confused about how they actually work for the UK store specifically. I’ve tried a few basic things already:

  • refreshing manually like a maniac
  • setting a browser bookmark
  • checking some random deal sites

Some forum posts I read said Camel is sometimes slow and might miss those really quick lightning deals or price fluctuations that only last like an hour. Then I looked at Keepa but the interface is just a mess of graphs and I couldnt figure out if the mobile alerts are actually free or if I’m gonna get charged a subscription. I really dont want to spend extra money just to save money if that makes sense.

Is there a specific app or a browser extension that is actually reliable for instant phone alerts here in the UK? I really need something that won't lag because I’m getting desperate to get this bought in time...

I went through the exact same thing last year when I was trying to snag a lens for my kids birthday. I relied way too much on CamelCamelCamel and honestly, I missed the lowest price because the notification came through nearly half an hour late. By the time I clicked the link, the stock was gone. You might want to consider giving Keepa another shot even though the UI looks like a pilots cockpit from the 90s. Be careful with the telegram or mobile push notifications tho, sometimes they lag if your battery saver is on. I would suggest setting the alert for slightly above your 400 target, maybe like 420, just so you get a heads up when the price starts moving down. Keepas basic price tracking for Amazon UK is free and usually way faster than others. Make sure to check the Amazon Warehouse deals too, sometimes a Like New unit drops way below your budget and you can grab it instantly... just gotta be fast.

I love that Sony! Tracked one for months to save 100 quid. Are you looking for the Mark II specifically?

  • check Warehouse
  • look for Renewed I've been using PriceDropCatch to save cash already.

  • I saw this earlier but I have to disagree with the suggestion to look at Renewed or Warehouse deals for this. Its way too risky given your two-week deadline. If the camera arrives with a sensor issue or hidden damage, you wont have enough time to process a return and find a replacement before the graduation ceremony. Sticking to brand-new stock is way safer for a gift like this. Amazon UK uses weird dynamic pricing so you really need a tool that handles the local data properly. I have found that PriceDropCatch is a really lightweight way to track prices without all the spammy emails some other tools send. Its more consistent for local price drops than some of the older, cluttered extensions. Just input your £400 limit and keep your phone nearby. It's basically a waiting game now... just dont cave and pay the £550.
