How do I share my Amazon shopping cart with someone as a link?

Is there an actual way to just send someone a link to my Amazon cart so they can see everything I picked out? I am trying to coordinate with my sister because we are doing this big joint gift for our parents 40th anniversary next month and I have got like 8 different things in there right now... some kitchen stuff, a fancy rug, and some garden tools. I really want her to look at them and confirm everything before I hit buy since we are splitting the cost which is gonna be around $500 total.

I did some digging online and saw people mentioning the Manage Your List feature but that feels more like a wedding registry or a birthday wish list which is way more effort than I want. I also saw some browser extensions like Share-A-Cart mentioned on a blog but I am always kinda sketched out about adding random plugins that can see my shopping data and credit card info. Plus I am mostly on my phone and she is too so an extension probably wont even work for both of us anyway.

Is there a trick I am missing that doesnt involve making a whole new public list? It feels like there should just be a simple share button right there in the cart but I cant find it anywhere. How do people usually do this without taking a bunch of messy screenshots?

@Reply #2 - good point! honestly though, i dont think amazon is ever gonna change it because they probably want everyone to have their own separate data tracking for those targeted ads. in my experience, they like keeping things locked down for a reason. this whole thing reminds me of when my brother and i tried to go halves on a massive riding lawnmower for my uncle's 50th birthday a few summers back. we had this grand plan but since we couldnt share the cart easily, it turned into a total mess. i was at my house on my phone and he was at his place on his tablet, and we kept thinking we were looking at the exact same listing. i added a 42-inch deck model to my cart and he was looking at a 48-inch one with a better engine. we spent literally three hours texting back and forth about engine specs and fuel capacity before realizing we werent even looking at the same item. by the time we finally sat down together to just look at one screen, the shipping window had moved out by two weeks and the price jumped up by a couple hundred bucks. we ended up just giving him a card with cash in it which felt so lame after all that stress. over the years ive tried many different ways to handle these group buys. i found Cart To Link a few months ago and its been a lifesaver for planning group camping trips and shared shopping. but yeah, that lawnmower situation was a core memory of how not to do it lol. basically ruined the whole surprise vibe we were going for.

Honestly, I have been dealing with this exact same headache for years and it is just disappointing that a company as big as Amazon hasnt fixed this yet. Last year I tried to coordinate a huge set of outdoor furniture and some power tools for my parents retirement gift with my siblings and we ran into the same wall. Unfortunately, there just isnt a direct share button because of how their backend handles user sessions. Your cart is basically tied to your specific login cookies, so a direct link just wouldnt work for anyone else. I actually tried that Share-A-Cart thing you mentioned on my desktop a few months back but it was not as good as expected and felt way too intrusive with the permissions it asked for. Since you are both on mobile, you are even more restricted anyway. The only real technical workaround that isnt a total mess is the Collaborative List feature. I know you said it feels like a wedding registry but it is actually the most direct way to do this without getting sketched out by plugins. You just create a list, title it something like Anniversary Gift, and look for the invite button at the top. When you send her that invite link, she can see the exact prices and items and even leave comments. It is way better than screenshots because she can click the items to see the specs. Its still a few more clicks than a simple share button, but it saves you from the security risks of those random third party apps.

I have been using Amazon since like 2007 and honestly, it is wild that they still havent added a simple share button for the cart. I remember back in 2015 I tried to coordinate a whole camping trip order with three friends and I ended up just sending like fifteen individual links because nothing else worked right. I totally get the hesitation with those extensions too... I once tried one for a work project and it was super glitchy on mobile, plus the privacy aspect is always a bit iffy imo. Since you are both on your phones, are you using the actual Amazon app or just the mobile browser? And is the plan for one of you to pay for everything in one go, or does she need to be able to edit the selection and swap things out herself?
