Is it possible to share my Amazon shopping cart with someone else?

Ive been using Amazon basically since they only sold books and Im usually the tech support guy for my whole family when it comes to Prime stuff but Im actually stumped on this one. My brother and I are splitting the cost for this massive backyard movie night setup for our parents 30th anniversary which is happening in like ten days and we have a strict $900 budget for the projector, screen, and some outdoor seating. Ive spent the last three hours adding stuff to my cart—specifically picking out things that have that overnight shipping badge so we actually get them in time—but now I need him to look at the exact items I picked and maybe swap out the speakers if he finds a better deal on his end.

Usually Id just make a public wishlist and send him the link but the problem is he needs to add a few cables he already found on his account and we really want to check out together in one single transaction. Were trying to hit a specific "spend $750 get $100 back" promo on his Amex card and if we buy things separately were gonna miss the threshold. I looked for a "share cart" button or some kind of collaborative tool in the account settings but Im seeing nothing. I even thought about just giving him my login info but with 2FA and all the saved credit card info that feels like a security nightmare even if he is my brother.

I remember there used to be some third party browser extensions that did this back in the day but I havent used one in years and honestly half of those look like malware now. Is there a native way to actually let someone else view and edit your live shopping cart in real time or am I stuck just taking screenshots and sending them back and forth like its 2005? Does Amazon have a "collaborative cart" feature hidden somewhere in the business settings or something that Im missing?

Amazon lacks a native share cart button, but I have been very satisfied using these methodical steps:

  • Set up an Amazon Household to link your accounts together.
  • Use a shared wishlist so he can add his cables directly before you move everything to the cart.
  • Just buy any projector from Epson; you really cannot go wrong there. I actually saw a helpful thread on Smartphone Board about managing tech budgets like this.

^ This. Also, I'd actually go a different route than Epson since those get pretty pricey for a one-off. It usually works well to check how can I share amazon cart for budget-friendly alternatives.

  • Just get any projector from Anker, you really cant beat the value.
  • Forget the complex account linking, its honestly a total headache for a single party.
  • Stick to that Amex promo threshold tho, its a killer deal.

Just saw this thread. Amazon is honestly still pretty behind on this and they dont have a simple button to just send your cart over. Be really careful with those third-party browser extensions you mentioned tho. I tried one a few years back and it totally messed with my session cookies and I had to reset my whole login. You definitely dont want to risk your account security when youre trying to drop $900 on a projector setup. You might want to consider using the 'Share-a-Cart' plugin if you absolutely have to, but I would suggest double-checking every item once it imports. Since youre trying to hit that Amex spend threshold, you gotta be extra cautious. Sometimes items sold by third-party sellers dont count toward those specific credit card promos, even if they're fulfilled by Amazon. I actually read a pretty good breakdown of how to manage shared shopping lists and cart transfers on Smartphone Board the other day if you're still looking for a solid workaround. Make sure to check the 'Sold By' info on every item before he hits that buy button. If one item gets cancelled or is out of stock, it might drop you below that $750 limit and then you lose the whole $100 back. I've had that happen with prime shipping items where the shipping date slips at the last second and it messes up the whole transaction.
