What is the best way to create collaborative wish lists for gifting?

So Ive been the go-to person for our family secret santa and gift lists for like five years now using the basic apps but Im hitting a wall with this huge family reunion we're planning for July. We have like 22 people coming to a cabin in the Ozarks and everyone wants to coordinate on these big ticket items like a shared kayak or a really nice grill for my parents but the usual sites are either too clunky for my aunt who still struggles with email or they dont let us hide the claimed status from the person who made the list. I need something that allows for group chipping in too.

Does anyone have a go-to platform that handles the collaboration side better than just a shared google doc which is what we are currently suffering through or am I stuck with manual tracking?

I've handled our big cabin trips for a decade and finally found a setup that works well without the headache. Just a warning tho, avoid sites that charge percentage fees for chipping in because it adds up fast for 22 people. We use a simple list and handle cash privately now. No complaints so far. Found this thread on Smartphone Board that explains the best ways to share your Amazon basket with others.

Stop using spreadsheets immediately. Tbh I've tried many different methods over the last decade and manual tracking for 22 people is a recipe for a massive headache. In my experience, if you want something that keeps the surprise intact and handles the coordination side, you should just go with Elfster. I've used it for every major family event since like 2015 and it works because the interface is simple enough that even my tech-illiterate relatives can figure it out. You cant go wrong with their wishlist features because it hides who bought what from the list creator automatically. If you're dealing with big ticket items like that grill or kayak you mentioned, you basically just need one person to be the banker while everyone else marks it as claimed. To handle the actual buying part together without losing your mind, I usually just set up amazon cart share so everyone can see the specific items being added before we pull the trigger on the group funds. It saves so much back-and-forth email clutter. Over the years, I've found that the more you try to over-engineer it with complex apps, the more people just ignore the list and buy random stuff anyway. Just get everyone on Elfster and use it for everything. Its the only way to stay sane with a group that size... believe me.
