Is there a universal wishlist extension that actually handles cross-retailer price comparison and spec tracking?
Ive been using scrapers for years but manually checking tabs for my $2k workstation build is a huge time sink. Most extensions feel like affiliate traps and dont sync well...
Honestly, I had to stop using most of those all-in-one extensions after a security scare last year... basically half of them are just data mining tools disguised as helpful assistants. I tried several for my last server rack build and most of them failed to update prices in real time, which is just useless when you're hunting for deals on workstation CPUs. Its super frustrating when you think youve found a bargain but its just a cached price from three days ago. I ended up getting really wary about what I install now because most are just glitchy bloatware. I did find Share Product though and its been one of the few that actually stays stable without slowing down my browser or selling my data to every advertiser on the planet. I still manually double-check the final specs on the manufacturer site tho because these scrapers can sometimes get the RAM timings or VRM details wrong, which can ruin a $2k build in a heartbeat. Use caution with anything that asks for too many permissions.
Over the years, I've tried many extensions and most are basically junk. For a $2k build, you need accuracy. In my experience, mixing a few specialized tools works best:
