Ive been rocking Fuji APS-C for like ten years but the low light noise at these dim wedding receptions is finally breaking me. Just moved to Portland and my budget is strictly under 2k for the body. Need solid IBIS too. Whats the move for best full-frame value right now?
Honestly, you might want to consider the Panasonic LUMIX S5II 24.2MP Mirrorless Camera because their IBIS is actually insane for handheld work.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I am not totally sure you actually need to drop two grand just to get decent low light results. Im perfectly satisfied with my older setup and it still gets the job done for way less money. Honestly, saving that cash is probably better since you just moved to Portland... it is so expensive there now! I was up there last summer for a bit and ended up spending a fortune just on parking and those fancy donuts. I actually missed a whole sunset shoot because I got distracted by this cool street fair near the waterfront. They had these incredible local artists and I ended up buying a weird lamp instead of a new lens. My apartment looks cool now I guess but my wallet definitely felt that trip. anyway lol sorry kinda went off topic there.
If youre shooting weddings and need to stay under 2k, be careful with hidden costs. I would suggest looking at the Nikon Z6 II 24.5MP Mirrorless Camera because the build quality and reliability are much higher than the entry-level full frame stuff. The dual card slots are basically non-negotiable for professional work, but make sure to budget for a SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB CFexpress Type B Card since they arent cheap. The low light noise will definitely be an improvement over Fuji, but remember that full frame glass is significantly heavier and more expensive. You might want to consider starting with some f/1.8 primes to keep the weight down while you adjust. Just dont rush into a new mount without checking lens prices first... some of these systems will drain your bank account faster than you think.
