honestly im so done with my old dslr it keeps giving me focus errors and the weight is killing my neck. i missed half the photos at a wedding last weekend because the mirror kept sticking and im just ready to throw it in a lake. i need something mirrorless and lightweight that actually works.

my budget is strictly under $600 because im saving for a trip to Japan next month. i dont mind buying used but what is actually the best value right now? every review i see just pushes $1500 gear and its so frustrating. what can i actually get for my money...

TL;DR: Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV with 14-42mm Lens for size or Fujifilm X-T200 with 15-45mm Lens for color. I ditched my bulky DSLR when my neck started killing me after long days. For Japan, weight matters most.

  • Olympus: Tiny, amazing stabilization, but smaller sensor.
  • Fujifilm: Better low light and colors, but slightly bigger lenses. Both fit your budget used and wont give you those mirror headaches.

In my experience, the Sony a6000 with 16-50mm Lens provides the best value. It's compact for Japan and the autofocus is significantly more reliable than DSLR tech.
