Top carrying cases for DJI Air and Mini drones?

I’m trying to upgrade my travel setup and need a solid carrying case that works well for my DJI Air and Mini (I swap between them). I’d like room for extra batteries, a charger, and props, plus decent water resistance and good padding for airline carry-on. What cases have you used and actually recommend for both?

For your situation, I’d go DJI Goggles Carry More Backpack if you want soft + flexible, or Nanuk 915 Waterproof Hard Case with Foam for max padding/water resistance—both fit Air/Mini + batts/charger, and stay carry-on friendly (just label LiPos).

Ok so quick background: cases are basically a tradeoff between “crush proof” (hard) vs “easy to live out of” (soft). For airline carry-on + swapping Air/Mini, the big thing is adjustable dividers and keeping LiPo stuff organized (batteries, charger, hub) so you’re not digging around at security.

1) Pelican 1510 Carry-On Case with Pick N Pluck Foam
- Pros: stupid-durable, real gasket seal (rain/splashes are a non-issue), wheels + carry-on sizing is clutch.
- Cons: heavier, and foam layouts are kinda “set it and forget it” unless you wanna re-cut again later.
- My use: I ran Air 2S + Mini 3 Pro in one 1510 by doing a “center bay” for the active drone + a side bay sized for the other body.

2) Lowepro ProTactic BP 450 AW II Professional Camera Backpack
- Pros: flexible dividers = easiest for swapping kits, All Weather cover helps, way nicer to walk with.
- Cons: not truly waterproof, less crush protection in an overhead bin if it gets bodied.

3) PGYTECH OneMo 2 Backpack 25L
- Pros: drone-first layout, good padding, battery/prop pockets are actually usable, comfy.
- Cons: water resistance is decent but not hard-case level; zips can be a weak point in real rain.

If you’re flying a lot: I’d do Pelican for the “core” kit, and a backpack for day missions. idk but that combo’s been the least annoying for me. gl!

Nice, didn't know that

- sooo yeah, agree—go with a Pelican-style hard case; my Air+Mini survived overhead-bin crushes. One extra tip: make sure the foam’s pluckable so you can re-cut when you swap drones...
