I just picked up the DJI Mini 4 Pro and I'm super excited to start flying! It's an amazing little drone, but I’m wondering what extras are actually worth the money. I’m mainly looking to do some landscape photography and travel videos, so I've been looking at ND filters for that cinematic look and maybe a hardshell carrying case for better protection during hikes. Also, is the Fly More Combo enough, or should I look into a dedicated landing pad and faster charger? I want to make sure I’m not missing anything crucial before my next trip. For those of you who have been flying this model, what are the absolute must-have accessories you’d recommend?

Yo! Just saw this... I actually had a mini heart attack on my last hike when my old card glitched during a sunset. Ngl, write speeds are EVERYTHING for 4K travel vids! Pro tip, check these out: - SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-I V30 U3 A2: Super reliable technical choice.
- Samsung PRO Plus 512GB microSDXC UHS-I V30 U3: Better value for bulk storage. Lesson learned: fast U3 cards are literally essential for 10-bit D-Log M!! 👍

Yo! Just saw this thread. For your situation, I LOVE the Mini 4 Pro but you gotta be super cautious with it! You're right to look at extras... wait no, actually you NEED them for hiking. Here's what I recommend: * Freewell All Day - 6Pack ND Filters for DJI Mini 4 Pro - Literally essential for landscape vids. Without them, your shutter speed will be way too high and the video looks jittery.
* STARTRC DJI Mini 4 Pro Waterproof Hard Carrying Case - If youre hiking, you NEED this. I mean, the stock bag is okay, but I highkey worry about crushing the gimbal in a pack!
* PGYTECH Drone Landing Pad Pro 50cm - Basically mandatory for keeping dust out of the motors. It's a cheap way to avoid a huge repair bill. So yeah, those are the only REAL must-haves imo. Hope that helps, gl! 👍

Ok so, congrats on the new drone!! The DJI Mini 4 Pro is basically a tiny powerhouse, but if youre serious about that cinematic look for travel videos, you gotta be careful with your shutter speed. Honestly, the internal processing is great, but it cant fix "stuttery" footage caused by a high shutter speed in bright daylight. In my experience, here's what I recommend:
- ND Filters: These are highkey non-negotiable for landscapes. You need them to hit the 180-degree shutter rule so your motion blur looks natural. Just get a set from Freewell or maybe PGYTECH, you literally cant go wrong with those brands. Dont worry about specific model numbers yet, just get a basic mixed pack.
- Power Delivery: The Fly More kit is a solid start, but the charging hub is kinda slow if youre using a standard phone brick. I would suggest picking up a high-wattage GAN charger from Anker. Itll save you hours when youre trying to fast-charge between hikes.
- Protection: For travel, the soft bag is okay, but I always worry about the gimbal calibration getting knocked off. Get a hardshell case from Nanuk or a similar brand to keep the sensors safe from pressure in your backpack. One thing to watch out for... be careful with landing pads. They're great for dusty spots to keep the motors clean, but sometimes they can actually interfere with the downward vision sensors if the patterns are too busy. Tbh, I usually just hand launch if the ground is messy. Anyway, just make sure you get some high-speed V30 micro SD cards from SanDisk cuz that 10-bit D-Log M footage at a high bitrate will eat through cheap storage fast. gl! 🚁✨

Seconding the recommendation above about the case! For hiking, you realy gotta focus on safety tho. I've been super satisfied with the Mini 4 Pro, but I'm always cautious. Basically, you need: * DJI Care Refresh 2-Year Plan (DJI Mini 4 Pro): Mandatory insurance. Without it, one small gust near a cliff means you're out $800.
* Heiyrc Neck Strap for DJI RC 2 Controller: Prevents dropping your remote off a ledge while hiking. Better safe than sorry, right? gl!

tbh I'm pretty new to this too but I've been obsessed with DIYing some stuff to save cash for more batteries!!! Since youre hiking, you gotta protect that RC 2 screen... I learned the hard way that scratches happen so fast when you're out in the wild. I compared doing it myself vs buying 'pro' stuff and here is what I found: - **Screen Protection**: I tried a cheap universal film first (huge mistake, bubbles everywhere). I ended up getting the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Tempered Glass for DJI RC 2. It's basically foolproof to install yourself compared to the floppy plastic ones and feels much smoother.
- **Sun Glare**: I actually made a DIY sun hood out of a cereal box and black tape lol. It worked! But honestly, it kept falling off in the wind. The Sunnylife Controller Sun Hood for DJI RC 2 is way more reliable for travel because it folds flat and actually stays on. Also, have you checked out the 'UAV Forecast' app yet? It's a free tool that tells you if it's actually safe to fly based on wind speeds at different altitudes. It's been a total lifesaver for me so I don't accidentally crash my new baby!!! Does anyone else use that??
