What are the must-have accessories for a DJI Air 3?

I just picked up a DJI Air 3 and I’m absolutely loving the dual-camera setup so far! I’m planning a few landscape shoots soon and want to make sure I have everything I need before heading out. I’ve been looking at some ND filters, but I’m curious if certain brands work better with the dual lenses. Also, is it worth upgrading to a hard case for better protection, or is the Fly More bag usually enough for most of you? I'm trying to build a solid kit without buying unnecessary clutter. For those who fly the Air 3 regularly, what are your absolute 'must-have' accessories that you can’t live without?

yo! i just started with the Air 3 too and i've been obsessed with the specs even though i'm still learning the ropes lol. congrats on the new drone, the dual-camera setup is highkey a game changer for landscape stuff!

basically for the filters, you DEFINATELY want ones that cover both the 24mm and 70mm lenses properly without vignetting. i compared the Freewell DJI Air 3 All Day - 6Pack ND Filters vs the standard DJI Air 3 ND Filters Set (ND8/16/32/64). the Freewell ones are awesome cuz they use high-quality glass that doesn't mess with the color as much (color neutrality is huge!), plus they're super light so no gimbal errors. the dji ones are decent but you get more variety for different lighting with the freewell kit.

about the case... the DJI Air 3 Fly More Bag is fine for casual stuff but i found it realy hard to fit everything in there without squeezing the props. i switched to the Lykus Titan MA310 Waterproof Hard Case for DJI Air 3. it's basically indestructible and waterproof which is great peace of mind. but yeah, it's kinda bulky to carry... i guess it depends if ur hiking far or just driving to spots??

also, honestly, make sure u get a fast card like the SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-I Card V30 because the dual-camera 4k files are huge and slow cards might cause write errors and ruin the shot.

anyway gl with the landscape shoots! let me know if u have more questions... cheers! 👍

Just catching up and +1 to what was said earlier. I actually had a gimbal error once just from tight packing... basically learned my lesson the hard way. To save cash, I suggest the K&F Concept DJI Air 3 ND Filter Set 6-Pack for about $55. Highkey better value than most. Plus, snag a SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I V30 for under $25. It’s the industry standard for reliability. Peace!

Honestly, congrats on the Air 3, its such a solid bird. Since you are looking at builds, one thing people often overlook is the DIY maintenance side of things. I am a huge fan of being able to handle minor stuff myself instead of shipping it off to a pro service center every time a screw feels loose or I want a different look. Definately look into getting a high-quality skin. I usually go with something from Wrapgrade because they fit like a glove and actually help protect the shell from those tiny scuffs you get during transport. Plus, if you pick a bright color, it helps with visibility big time. Its way better than just the plain grey look tbh. I think it might even help with the signal iirc, but dont quote me on that. For actual self-service and kit building, you should totaly grab:

  • A precision screwdriver kit from a brand like iFixit
  • Any decent lens cleaning pen to keep those dual lenses smudge-free
  • A set of wraps or skins from a company like Wrapgrade or DecalGirl I find that having a little DIY kit ready keeps me in the air longer because I am not scared of every little scratch or loose part. Ngl, it feels way better knowing you can tweak things yourself without needing a professional to look at it. Just be careful not to void your warranty if you start taking things apart lol.

Warning: landing in tall grass can *overheat* the internal ESCs or jam the motors! Before I give advice, what's the terrain like for these shoots? Just gotta be careful where you touch down.

In my experience, I actually regret just sticking with the stock bag at first. It's way too cramped... literally felt like I was gonna crush the gimbals every time I zipped it up!! Not as good as I expected for the price tbh.

Anyway, here's what I recommend for a solid technical setup:

- K&F Concept DJI Air 3 ND Filter Set (ND8/16/32/64): These are key for the dual-lens setup. I noticed some cheaper brands give a weird green tint on the 70mm lens specifically, but these maintain color consistency across both sensors.
- SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO microSDXC V30 UHS-I: Don't skimp here. The Air 3's bitrate is high, and 128GB fills up sooo fast when you're doing dual-camera recording.
- Firehouse Technology Arc V Drone Strobe: If you're shooting sunset landscapes, you'll need this to stay FAA legal... and it makes it way easier to spot in the sky.

Good luck with the shoots! 👍
