Looking to get into photography and really drawn to Fujifilm's film simulations and overall aesthetic. Coming from just smartphone photography, so need something that's not too overwhelming but still has room to grow into. Budget is around $800-1200 for body and maybe a kit lens. I've been looking at the X-T50 and X-S20, but there are so many options it's hard to know where to start.

What Fuji cameras would you recommend for someone just starting out? Important to me: good image quality, intuitive controls, and those beautiful film simulations everyone talks about. Don't need crazy video features, mainly interested in stills. Any particular models that strike a good balance between beginner-friendly and capable? Would love to hear from folks who started their photography journey with Fujifilm!

Depends on your budget and what you want to shoot. For pure beginner-friendliness, the X-S20 has in-body stabilization which really helps when you're learning. The grip is more comfortable than other Fujis too. But if you want the classic Fuji experience with dedicated dials, the X-T50 is the sweet spot. Avoid the X-Pro or X-E series as a first camera - they're great but less intuitive for beginners.

> "X-T30 II. Perfect balance of features, size, and price." tbh I totally agree about the Fujifilm X-T30 II being a great spot to start. I've had mine for a while now and it's been sooooo helpful for learning how everything works without being too much. One quick tip from a practical side - look for used gear!! You can usually find an Fujifilm X-T30 II body for way less, which leaves you money for a nice prime lens like the Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR. Honestly, using a prime lens (where u cant zoom) made me a much better photographer than a zoom ever did because it forces you to actually move around to get the shot. Plus it keeps the camera tiny so you'll actually want to bring it everywhere with u! It's basically the best way to grow ur skills long-term.

X-T30 II. Perfect balance of features, size, and price. Get it with the 18-55mm f/2.8-4 kit lens (it's actually good, unlike most kit lenses). Watch some YouTube tutorials and you'll be shooting great photos in no time.

I love X100VI. Compact camera and easy to use.

The new Fuji X-E5 is a good start. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=Fujifilm+X-E5&BI=8941&KBID=10361&SID=12345&DFF=d50
