Hi all! I'm getting into vlogging and really love Fuji's color science and film simulations. I'm torn between a few options and would love your input. The X-T5 has amazing specs but no flip screen, while the X-S20 seems more vlog-friendly with better video features and IBIS. The X-H2S is tempting for its video capabilities but might be overkill. Budget is flexible but prefer something under $2000. What's been your experience with Fuji cameras for video content creation? Any lens recommendations too?
The X-S20 is hands down the best Fuji for vlogging right now. Amazing IBIS, flip screen, and the battery life is actually decent (unlike older Fuji bodies). The autofocus tracking works great for solo content too. Been using mine for 6 months and love it!
Hi there! For vlogging with Fuji, the X-S20 is generally considered more vlog-friendly than the X-T5 due to its fully articulating vari-angle touchscreen, which is essential for self-recording and monitoring your shots. The X-T5 has a tilt-only screen, which isn't ideal for vlogging.
Just switched from Canon to the X-T5 and honestly... the ergonomics for vlogging aren't great. The flip screen is awkward when you're holding it at arm's length. Save yourself the hassle and get the X-S20 instead. Trust me on this one.
Depends on your budget honestly. If you want the absolute best, go X-H2S - that thing is a beast for video. But if you're just starting out, the X-S10 is still solid and you can find them used for great prices now. The kit lens works fine for most vlogging scenarios.
X-T50.
For those watching their budget, don't sleep on the X-M5 which delivers open gate 6K 10-bit video, a vertical 9:16 vlogging mode plus a host of video-friendly features all in a compact and affordable package. You'll struggle to find a better vlogging camera for under $1,000. The Fujifilm X-M5 redefines ultra-portable video capabilities, offering 6.2K/30p recording in a remarkably light 355g body. Its vari-angle touchscreen and AI-driven autofocus make it ideal for vloggers and travel videographers. Perfect starter camera!
I have been using these bodies for years now and tbh the autofocus hunting still drives me up the wall. It is so draining to spend all that time setting up a shot only for the eye-tracking to pulse or jump to a random object in the background... it really makes the editing process a nightmare sometimes. I wish they would just get it right after all these years.
