Looking for the best Viltrox lens for my Fuji. I mainly shoot portraits. Got a tight budget of around $400. What's the sharpest option I can get for that price?

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

Hey! I've owned the Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 for portraits, and honestly, I had issues with its autofocus on my X-T3. Sharpness wasn't as good as expected wide open, unfortunately. Maybe consider saving a bit more for the Fuji 50mm f/2? It's sharper, from what I've heard. Good luck!

Sharpness-wise, Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 is decent. But honestly, I had focusing issues after a year. Consider the used Fuji 50mm f/2. Tack sharp, reliable, and you can often find it around $350.

For portraits on a budget, the Viltrox 56mm f/1.4 is decent. I've seen them used for great results. Shop around; sometimes you can snag one for under $300 used! Does that help?

For portrait sharpness under $400, Viltrox is decent, but honestly, I've had issues with their QC. Consider Sigma; their older Fuji-mount primes might be sharper for the money, though autofocus might not be as quick. Do some market research comparing reviews; unfortunately, Viltrox wasn't as good as expected for me.

Before chasing sharpness, consider long-term reliability. I've seen some Viltrox AF issues impact camera mounts over time. Maybe check used Fujinon options for safer, proven build quality.
