Looking for a good street photography lens for my X-E5. Any recommendations for under $500?

No way, I literally just dealt with this yesterday. Small world.

I'd suggest the Fujifilm 27mm f/2.8. Super compact! Maybe around $400 used? Check eBay; be careful of scams!

Consider a used Fujifilm 27mm f/2.8. Be careful of adapter compatibility; test first!

Used Fujifilm 27mm f/2.8 pancake. Compact, sharp, and often under $300. It's not flashy, but it just *works* for street. Check KEH or MPB.

Heads up on street shooting! Consider a lens with OIS. Walking around, especially at night, image stabilization is key for sharp, safe shots. Fujifilm's 23mm f/2 WR is fantastic, keeps things crisp!

Hey! Since you're shooting in Arizona like me, consider dust and heat. I've found adapted vintage lenses work GREAT. My old Pentax 50mm f/1.7 cost me under $100 with an adapter. Sharp, but check for haze – desert sun kills 'em!

Instead of the usual Fuji lens, check out the Sigma 30mm f/1.4. Better value, IMHO. Used market prices dipped around $280 last year.

Forget pricey glass! Grab an old Pentax M42 lens adapter! I got mine for $20. Then scour eBay for a vintage 50mm prime. You'll be AMAZED at the results! Pure DIY fun!

Hey! Before you pull the trigger, check your camera's warranty. Some lenses (especially cheaper ones) *might* void it if they're not officially supported. I almost learned that the hard way! A used Fujifilm lens from a reputable dealer could be a safer bet, even if it's slightly above your budget. Peace of mind is worth something, right? Just a thought!

Beyond initial cost, think long-term. The older but sharp XF 35mm f/2 is around $300 used. Be careful of dust – get a good UV filter. It's a workhorse.

Consider used Fujinon 35mm f/2. Clean the contacts regularly; it'll last for years.

Consider a used Fujinon 27mm f/2.8. Smaller lens, smaller footprint, less energy to manufacture. I'm happy with mine.

For snappy focus? Fujinon 35mm f/2. Quick like a sports car, but check sample images first!

Consider a used Fujifilm XF 27mm f/2.8. Depreciates slowly; you can often resell near your purchase price, unlike other options. Keep an eye out for one around $300.
