For someone just getting into the GFX system, I'd recommend starting with these two workhorses: the GF 32-64mm f/4 R LM WR as your versatile standard zoom covering everything from wide-angle to short telephoto, and the budget-friendly GF 35-70mm f/4.5-5.6 WR which is a steal when on sale. The 32-64mm offers excellent handling and stellar image quality, while these two give you great coverage from 32-100mm equivalent, and both punch way above their weight class. This combo will cover 95% of what most photographers need while you figure out what focal lengths you gravitate toward.

I'll be honest about telephoto options - the 100-200mm is not up to standard compared to Canon's offerings, and it's a shame that Fuji can't bring a quality zoom tele lens. Your better bet is going with primes: the GF 110mm gets excellent reviews, and for longer distances, the GF 250mm F4 also gets excellent reviews. The new GF 500mm produces stunning levels of detail and texture with wonderfully soft bokeh, plus fast autofocus and a very effective 6-stop stabilizer - a must-have for sports and wildlife photography.

For landscape work, you absolutely need the GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR - this ultra-wide-angle lens is great for landscapes and architecture, offering sharpness and minimal distortion, perfect for those sweeping vistas and cramped interiors. But here's the game-changer: the GF 20-35mm f/4 with its unbeatable wide-angle coverage and performance at least as good as the 23mm f/4 - it's a must-have that gives you a 20-70mm kit that's just awesome. The 20-35mm offers utterly superb sharpness at all focal lengths, while fringing is minimal.

Congrats on the GFX! I daily drive the GF 45mm f/2.8 R. Sharp as heck, and I snagged mine used for around $1500. No regrets – it just works for me.
