Hey all, just got the FUJIFILM GFX 100S II! What's the fastest memory card you'd recommend for it? Looking to spend around $200 max. Thanks!
Honestly, for a beast like the 100S II, you reallyyy have to think about the whole DIY data pipeline. Those 100MP files are absolutely huuuge, and if a card fails, sending it off for professional data recovery is gonna cost you way more than the $200 budget you set. Tbh, just go with SanDisk. I mean, I've used their stuff for years and the biggest perk for a DIY enthusiast is the self-service recovery software they usually bundle with their higher-tier cards. It basically lets you handle minor corruption issues yourself without needing to ship it to a lab or pay for a pro service. Just make sure you're getting their fastest UHS-II options to keep that buffer moving, because waiting for a slow card to write is the worst. It's really not worth overthinking the exact model numbers as long as the brand is solid and you have a plan for managing the data yourself. Stick with a reputable name like that and you're basically good to go.
Lexar Pro! Over the years, it's been reliable. I'd spend $150 on that, in my experience.
GFX100S II needs speed! V90 cards are a must. Be careful with UHS-II; some cheaper readers bottleneck. ProGrade Digital Cobalt 300R is solid, but confirm compatibility.
Congrats on the GFX! Forget outright speed; data integrity is key. I'd suggest a Sony Tough series card. They're physically more robust (less prone to bending pins, etc.). Added peace of mind for precious photos. Something 128GB should be plenty. Happy shooting!
Congrats on the GFX 100S II! Forget chasing the absolute fastest card; diminishing returns kick in hard. I've been using Lexar Professional cards for years. Save some cash! Grab a couple of 128GB V60 cards instead of one super-expensive V90. You'll be amazed at the performance for the price, and having two cards is a lifesaver if one fails!
