Seeking recommendations for the optimal SD card for Fujifilm X-T5, prioritizing fast write speeds for photography. Looking for the best balance between performance and cost-effectiveness. Not interested in video capabilities. Appreciate any quick suggestions from those familiar with the camera's requirements.

I use SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-II V90 SD card. Works well and no issue yet.

Romeor is spot on, V90 is definitely the way to go for this body! Since the X-T5 rocks that 40MP sensor, those raw files are massive and you really need the high bus speeds to clear the buffer quickly during bursts. Reliability is everything when you are out in the field tho, so I look at the build quality just as much as the read/write specs. I am a huge fan of the Sony TOUGH-G Series SDXC UHS-II V90 for its insane durability, but if you want that balance of cost and performance, the Kingston Canvas React Plus UHS-II V90 is fantastic. Here is why they stand out:

  • Sony Tough uses a ribless, switchless design so there are no flimsy plastic parts to break off in your slot
  • Kingston offers some of the best sustained write speeds in the industry for the price point
  • Both cards handle the heat generation of the X-T5 data throughput really well Honestly, the build quality on the Sony is amazing and basically eliminates the risk of card failure from physical wear. It is a total beast for high-res photography!

Any V90 SD card is recommended!
